GARDINER, Maine (WABI) - Officials say a Maine DOT worker was struck by a car while on the job this afternoon in Gardiner.
The Department of Public Safety says it happened around 1:45 p.m. on 295 northbound.
Three DOT workers employees were working to clear tire debris from the road, investigators say.
Two workers were in a truck with warning lights on in the breakdown lane while another worker got out to remove the debris.
When leaving the truck, the worker, a Lewiston man, 57, was struck by an SUV driven by a Gardiner woman, 39.
The injured worker was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
