Two injured after car rear ends stopped garbage truck, sheriff says

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning at the Kentucky-Tennessee line left two people injured.

According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash on 11210 State Line Road after 7:30 a.m.

Deputies learned that a 19-year-old man from Dresden, Tennessee was driving a passenger car westbound when he struck the rear end of a garbage truck. The driver, a 31-year-old man from Mayfield, Kentucky, was stopped at 11210 State Line Rd, with his emergency lights engaged and was exiting the vehicle when his garbage truck was rear-ended.

The 19-year-old was airlifted to a hospital in Nashville, Tenn. for treatment.

The 31-year-old was transported to an area hospital in Graves County for non-life-threatening injuries.
