SALINE COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) - A man is dead after a crash Tuesday morning in Saline County in which a vehicle hit men working in a construction zone.
The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the worker killed as 55-year-old Toby Marco, from Abilene. Two others had minor injuries, according to the KHP report.
The KHP said that at 9:46 a.m. on Tuesday, a truck was headed north on I-135 in Saline County, just south of Smolan Road, when the driver crossed onto the right shoulder and hit a legally parked vehicle.
The truck began to skid, hit the guardrail and then began to overturn. The truck hit five workers, who were in the grassy area east of the guardrail, the KHP said.
The driver, a 35-year-old man from Oklahoma, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to KHP.
