New details in fatal crash that closed all northbound lanes of US75 Sunday, officials say

DALLAS, Texas — One man is dead after a crash in the northbound lanes of US75 around 8 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Dallas Fire-Rescue officials say the crash happened near Royal Lane where a disabled vehicle was hit by another driver, pinning the man beneath the wreckage.

Dallas police shared more details Monday, saying the victim was standing outside a disabled vehicle in the shoulder on US75. The impact of the wreck pushed the man and both vehicles into the northbound lanes, blocking traffic on North Central Expressway.

The victim is believed to be the driver of the disabled vehicle, according to DFR, and the passenger in that vehicle was transported to the hospital for her injuries along with the driver of the second vehicle. That second driver was listed as being in “critical condition” by DPD.

None of the identities of those involved have been shared, Dallas police say the medical examiner will provide the identity of the male victim who died.

This crash caused all of the northbound lanes to close for roughly three hours while crews handled the scene Sunday.
