KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A pedestrian has died after being pinned between two vehicles in an early morning crash Sunday, KCPD said.
Police said a white Infiniti G50 was stopped on the right shoulder I-70 near Prospect with its hazard lights activated. Investigators said the driver of the Infiniti had exited the vehicle and was standing near the rear of the car when a silver Ford Five Hundred entered the emergency shoulder and struck the Infiniti.
The Infiniti driver was pinned between the two vehicles and suffered traumatic injuries. That person was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead Sunday evening.
The person’s identity has not been released.
The driver of the Ford Five Hundred was also taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
Police said impairment is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
