DEKALB COUNTY, Alabama — A 70-year-old Ft. Payne woman was killed Friday evening in a multi-vehicle crash in DeKalb County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
ALEA said the crash happened at about 5:25 p.m. Aug. 14 on U.S. 11 near the 223-mile marker, about one mile south of Ft. Payne.
Colleen K. Jones was driving a 1999 Toyota Camry when her vehicle was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by John David Andrew Twilley, 40, of Ft. Payne.
After the initial collision, the Camry was struck by a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria LX driven by Matthew C. Dunn, of Cedar Bluff.
Jones was pronounced dead on the scene.
ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash.
