Two people were critically injured after a passenger car crashed into the rear of a stopped 18-wheeler on Interstate 20 in Tye, Texas, shortly before 9:00 a.m.
According to police at the scene, the 18-wheeler was stopped on the interstate when the passenger vehicle struck the rear of the commercial truck. The driver of the car was airlifted to a hospital, while a passenger was transported by ambulance. Both were reported to be in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.
Authorities have not yet released information explaining why the 18-wheeler was stopped in the roadway or what caused the passenger vehicle to collide with it. The crash remains under investigation.
