ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — One driver is dead after a crash involving a pickup truck and a semitruck early Monday morning on Interstate 270.
According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened just before 1 a.m. Monday on northbound I-270, south of Interstate 44.
Troopers said a 2013 Ram 1500 pickup truck was stopped in Lanes 1 and 2, facing east, after being involved in a previous crash. A semitruck in Lane 2 struck the pickup, causing the pickup to spin around, leave the left side of the roadway and hit a concrete median.
The pickup’s driver, a 42-year-old woman from Dupo, Illinois, was ejected from the vehicle and landed in a southbound lane of I-270, according to the crash report.
She was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Troopers said the woman was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
No other injuries were reported.
