Semi Tractor-Trailer Overturned after Crashed into a Disabled Pickup Truck late Monday Night on the 15 Freeway in Rancho Cucamonga.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA. ( Pain In The Pass) » A Semi tractor-trailer hauling lithium batteries overturns after crashing into a disabled pickup truck on Northbound Interstate 15 late Monday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 11:30pm August 31, 2026, on northbound I-15 Freeway just before the Foothill Boulevard exit.

From the CHP traffic log stated a disabled pickup truck was blocking the slow lane. The pickup truck was hit from behind by a semi tractor-trailer and lost control and overturned.

The impact left the pickup truck on top of the K-rail, while the semi overturned over the K-rail.

Good news the driver of the pickup truck was outside of his vehicle prior being hit by the semi. The semi driver was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

CHP said, the semi was hauling approximately 2,000 pounds of lithium batteries.

A Sig-Alert was issued for over three hours for multiple right lanes for the removal of the semi and trailer with help from multiple heavy-duty tow trucks.
