Two hospitalized after multi-vehicle crash on I-84 in Ada County

BOISE, Idaho — Two drivers were hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash on I-84 in Ada County on Monday afternoon.

Idaho State Police said the crash happened around 2:51 p.m. at milepost 53 near Vista.

Police said a 25-year-old Boise woman driving a 2021 Volkswagen Atlas rear-ended a 2021 International semi driven by a 37-year-old Caldwell man when the semi slowed for a disabled vehicle ahead.

The Volkswagen also hit a 2002 Chevrolet S driven by a 25-year-old Meridian man. The Chevrolet had stopped on the westbound on-ramp at exit 53, according to police. The Volkswagen came to rest on the right shoulder.

ISP said the drivers of the semi and the Chevrolet were wearing seatbelts. The drivers of the Chevrolet and Volkswagen were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Ada County Fire and Ada County Paramedics responded to the scene.

Police are investigating the crash.
