New details in fatal crash that closed all northbound lanes of US75 Sunday, officials say
DALLAS, Texas — One man is dead after a crash in the northbound lanes of US75 around 8 a.m. on Sunday morning. Dallas Fire-Rescue officials say the crash happened near Royal Lane where a disabled vehicle was hit by another driver, pinning the man beneath the wreckage. Dallas police shared more details Monday, saying the victim was standing outside a disabled vehicle in the shoulder on US75. The impact of the wreck pushed the man and both vehicles into the northbound lanes, blocking traffic on North Central Expressway.

While providing traffic control on the left emergency shoulder, another vehicle traveling south on I-75 reportedly “lost control” and collided with the parked fire department truck, Kentucky State Police reported.

NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — An 82-year-old man died after deputies say he was hit by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 20. The crash happened after 4:15 a.m. on I-20 eastbound near Exit 101 in Newton County. Channel 2 Action News This Morning reported that all lanes were shut down for the investigation. Deputies say Bruce Bartenfelder, 82, and his wife were traveling on the interstate when they started to have mechanical problems with a boat they were towing.

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) - A Colerain Township police officer is OK and “in good spirits” after his cruiser was hit Thursday on the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway, the police chief says. The officer was taken to a hospital in an ambulance after the 8:10 a.m. crash, treated and released. A 16-year-old girl was hospitalized after being struck by a driver in Thousand Oaks. On July 5, California Highway Patrol officers were called to the crash on Potrero Road, just west of Wendy Drive, around 11 p.m. An investigation revealed a driver stopped on the road to drop off a passenger, the 16-year-old girl, whose car was parked in a dirt turnout. As a 17-year-old boy driving a pickup truck approached the stopped vehicle, he drove onto the right shoulder and struck the girl as she was walking to her car, authorities said.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A sheriff’s office near Dallas is reminding drivers to pay attention to first responders pulled over after some officers were nearly hit by a passing car. The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office published a scary video to Facebook, saying one of its deputies and a Forney Police officer “were nearly struck by a passing vehicle after it collided with the officer’s patrol vehicle” on Sunday. KCSO said they were working a call on the freeway.
