One person in critical condition after early morning crash on I-76
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — One person is in critical condition after two crashes closed Interstate 76 for hours early Monday morning. At about 4:23 a.m. Monday, troopers with Colorado State Patrol (CSP) responded to a crash on I-76 just east of 88th Avenue. CSP said that preliminary reports indicate that a 2015 gray Subaru was traveling eastbound in the middle lane when it approached a semi-trailer ahead of it, prompting the driver to brake suddenly.

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police have filed search warrants for video footage and driving data from inside a tractor-trailer involved in a crash on Interstate 81 that killed three people, including a 2-year-old child. The crash occurred on Dec. 22 on I-81 northbound in Roanoke County around 11 p.m. Police say the tractor-trailer ran off the right side of the road and hit a Honda Odyssey that was stopped on the right shoulder, killing three people inside the van.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A pedestrian standing outside his disabled vehicle was hit and killed overnight by a passing vehicle, officials said. The crash occured around 1:23 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, on State Highway 205 near the Kaufman and Rockwall county line, according to a press release from the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department. An initial investigation revealed that a pedestrian was standing outside a disabled vehicle and entered a lane of traffic before he was hit by a Mercedes SUV, according to the release.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Lanes have reopened after a multiple-vehicle crash midday Sunday in Gwinnett County, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The incident happened when a vehicle became disabled and was not able to be moved to the side, GDOT said. Emergency crews worked the scene at Hamilton Mill Rd (exit 120) to clean it up. Five people were taken to the hospital with injuries in the wreck, which involved three vehicles, GDOT said.

A pregnant woman was killed while getting out of her vehicle on a Missouri highway. Leah Hyde was driving a “2015 Subaru Forester westbound on James River Expressway … when the vehicle hit the concrete median divider and came to a stop in the far inside lane” near Campbell around 1:23 p.m. on June 2, the Springfield Police Department (SPD) shared on Facebook. Police said when Hyde, 24, got out of the driver’s side of the vehicle, she was hit by a westbound 2017 Toyota Corolla driven by 25-year-old Sheri Jones, who was allegedly attempting to avoid the vehicle in the roadway by driving her car around Hyde’s car on the left.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A man was hospitalized after a vehicle vs. tractor-trailer crash in Warren County this Thursday. According to Ohio State Highway Patrol Sergeant Tyler S. Ross, the crash happened at approximately 6:25 a.m. on I-75 south, near milemarker 37 in Franklin Twp. The initial investigation found a 2027 Kenworth T680 tractor-trailer combination, driven by a 34-year-old man from Laredo, Texas, was parked on the right shoulder of I-75.

DETROIT (FOX 2) - A victim suffered serious injuries when they were struck by a vehicle after getting a flat tire Thursday in Detroit. According to Michigan State Police, just before 6 a.m. the victim experienced a flat tire and stopped on the gore of the express and local lanes of westbound I-96 near Outer Drive. The victim got out of their vehicle and was hit by another driver. An investigation is ongoing.

A crash involving multiple vehicles left two people injured and caused traffic disruptions on Interstate 684 in Westchester County on Wednesday, June 3. The collision happened at around 11:47 a.m. on I-684 northbound near mile marker 15.2 near Exit 5 in Bedford, according to New York State Police. Investigators said a 2022 Isuzu truck was traveling northbound when it struck two disabled vehicles that were parked on the highway shoulder: a 2009 Freightliner tractor-trailer and a 2011 Honda.

A passing motorist, later identified as a Marine who stopped to assist, is among the dead. A Tesla driver stopped in the middle of Route 22 in Bridgewater on Sunday afternoon, which led to a fatal rear-end crash involving two other vehicles, authorities said. The Tesla was headed east near Grove Street at about 4:05 p.m. before the driver came to a “complete stop” in the center lane, Bridgewater police said. An SUV traveling behind the Tesla was then forced to stop. The 91-year-old driver of a third vehicle — a passenger car — was unable to stop in time and hit the SUV from behind.
