Two Critically Injured After Car Slams Into Stopped 18-Wheeler on I-20 in Tye
Two people were critically injured after a passenger car crashed into the rear of a stopped 18-wheeler on Interstate 20 in Tye, Texas, shortly before 9:00 a.m. According to police at the scene, the 18-wheeler was stopped on the interstate when the passenger vehicle struck the rear of the commercial truck. The driver of the car was airlifted to a hospital, while a passenger was transported by ambulance. Both were reported to be in critical condition.

(NewsNation) — The Tennessee Highway Patrol has shared some jarring video of the moment a trooper’s patrol car was slammed from behind by a careless motorist on an interstate shoulder. The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon along Interstate 65 in the Nashville area as the officer was parked behind a pulled-over vehicle. The crash was recorded on a front-facing dashboard camera and the trooper’s body camera. Both video sources show the cruiser propelled into the vehicle in front.

DELAWARE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - The Iowa State Patrol said one person is dead and two people are hurt after a crash in Delaware County early Saturday morning. ISP said a Toyota Prius and a Honda CRV were parked in the Eastbound shoulder of Highway 20 at mile marker 286 around 2:00 am Saturday when a Chevy Equinox hit both cars and the driver of the CRV. A 24-year-old from Dubuque died in the incident.

A pair of semi trucks collided after one slowed to avoid hitting a construction worker gathering up orange cones. The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. in Ogden, Utah on Interstate 15. According to ABC4, the first semi truck approached a construction zone and slowed down as a worker walked around gathering construction cones. A second semi truck then failed to brake in time and crashed into the first semi truck, causing a crash that also involved a car.

OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Oconee County Coroner’s Office reports it was called to a crash on Highway 28 on Friday. The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 2012 Chevrolet pickup, traveling west on SC 28 around 2 p.m., hit the back of a 2014 Hyundai Elantra, which was stopped. The pickup then went off the right side of the road and hit a construction traffic flagger near Yellow Branch Falls.

A 25-year-old Odin woman has died in a crash on southbound I-57 three miles south of Dix. Jefferson County Coroner Roger Hayse pronounced Madison Burton dead in the emergency room of Good Samaritan Hospital. He says Burton was waiting in her car on the shoulder of the road for help to arrive to assist her in changing a flat tire. Her car was apparently struck in the rear by a pickup truck that had left the roadway.

FRANKLIN, Ohio (WXIX) - A 59-year-old woman was killed, and four other people were hurt in a chain-reaction multi-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 75 in the northern Cincinnati suburbs, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The 5-vehicle crash was reported in the Warren County city of Franklin just after 6 a.m. Tuesday and shut down the highway for more than five hours. The driver of a 2017 Honda Civic, Karen White of Miamisburg, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, troopers said in a news release.

Officers arrived to find a woman in the roadway and began life-saving measures.

According to OSHP, at around 9:24 p.m., the trooper was performing a traffic stop blocking I‑90 westbound near MP 178 when he was hit by another car. This crash caused his cruiser to hit the car he had stopped. The trooper was taken to University Hospital Main Campus, treated and released.
