3 Dead and 5 Injured After Car Hits Group Standing Near Separate Crash Site on Highway
Three people were killed and five others were injured after a car crashed into a group of people near a separate collision on an Illinois highway. The incident occurred just after midnight local time on Wednesday, Dec. 3, on Interstate 57 in Calumet Park, according to preliminary information from Illinois State Police obtained by PEOPLE. A preliminary investigation indicated the first crash involved three vehicles just south of 120th Street, authorities said.

MAUMEE, OH, (November 30, 2025) - A 30-year-old man was tragically killed in an accident Sunday on a shoulder of Interstate 475 south in Maumee. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Amandeep Amandeep, a resident of Winnipeg, Canada, was on the shoulder next to a disabled vehicle when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old just before 5:30 p.m. Amandeep was pronounced deceased at the scene.

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A truck driver is accused of causing a crash that left one man dead and his wife injured. Mark Singleton faces a vehicular manslaughter charge. Sukanta Panda, 76, and his 71-year-old wife were in their car on the shoulder of eastbound SR-126 with a flat tire on Nov. 3. According to court papers, their car was completely out of traffic. Singleton is accused of drifting while coming out of a curve and hitting the Pandas’ car, killing Sukanta.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Alexandria Police Department said they are investigating a fatal crash involving three cars on I-49 over the weekend. APD said Danielle Jones, 28, was driving southbound on November 30 around 4:29 a.m. when the vehicle (a GMC Acadia) left the road and hit a guardrail. The impact caused the vehicle to become disabled in the middle of the road. Shortly after, due to heavy rainfall and reduced visibility, the Acadia was hit by two other vehicles.

The crash occurred Sunday just before 5:30 p.m. According to a press release, a 19-year-old was traveling south on I-475 when the driver struck two pedestrians, ages 29 and 30, who were walking on the left shoulder next to their disabled vehicle, identified in a press release as a semi-truck.

Four Texas firefighters were injured early Sunday when an 18-wheeler slammed into their fire engine as they were blocking traffic to a freeway entrance following a car crash, authorities said. The New York State Police said the wreck happened in the southbound lanes just south of Exit 11. Troopers responded around 8:00 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious collision. A preliminary investigation found that two vehicles traveled south on the highway. One vehicle rear-ended the other, which pushed the struck vehicle off the left shoulder.

A 41-year-old driver was killed after he crashed into the back of a disabled truck on Interstate 80 in Roxbury early Friday, officials said. Michael Murphy was driving east at 5:20 a.m. when he hit the truck, which was broken down in the right lane, State Police said. Murphy, of Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene, about three-quarters of a mile east of exit 30. The truck driver suffered minor injuries.
