CLEARED: All I-4 westbound lanes at exit 38 in Lakeland back open after crash: FDOT
LAKELAND, Fla. — FDOT said I-4 westbound is back open at Exit 38 (SR 33) in Lakeland after a multi-vehicle crash. Two young men suffered serious injuries after their car crashed into a disabled tractor-trailer on Interstate 4 in Polk County before being struck by another semi, shutting down westbound traffic for hours during rush hour. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash happened around 3:50 p.m. Monday on westbound I-4 west of State Road 33.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — A 17-year-old boy from Edgewood was killed early Sunday morning after being struck while outside a disabled vehicle on Interstate 695 in Baltimore County, Maryland State Police said. Troopers from the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack responded shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 2 to the outer loop of I-695 east of southbound I-83 for a reported pedestrian-involved crash. Police said the teen was one of three passengers in a Lexus IS that had become inoperable in the far-right lane.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Video captured the moment a car slammed into a disabled vehicle in the SmartLane of Interstate 670 in Columbus Monday morning. Matt Bruning, the press secretary for the Ohio Department of Transportation, posted video of the crash, which occurred on I-670 East near U.S. 62 at 5:53 a.m. The video shows what appears to be a red SUV broken down in the SmartLane, which was closed at the time of the crash, according to Bruning.

EL PASO, Texas (CBS Newspath/WKRC) — A scary moment during a traffic stop that injured a police officer and a driver was caught on the officer’s body camera. The El Paso Police Department said on social media that one of its motorcycle officers was conducting a traffic stop on I-10 when another car lost control and struck the back of the stopped car. The crash pushed the stopped car about 500 feet down the shoulder.

(KY3) -A Springfield man who stopped to help the driver of an overturned tractor-trailer on Interstate 44 near Miami, Oklahoma, has died from his injuries, nearly two weeks after the crash. Dylan Hoyt and a group of people were traveling home from street racing on July 12 when they came across an overturned semi-truck on the westbound side of I-44. Hoyt and his group stopped to help the truck driver.

DRAGOON, Ariz. — A Maricopa mother is urging drivers to slow down during severe weather after her son was hit and killed in a rain storm along Interstate 10. Timothy Patsalos, 28, was a truck driver on his way to Florida on July 21, when he came across a crash on I-10 near Dragoon Road in Cochise County. Jessica Soto told 12News her son called 911, put on his safety gear and got out of his truck to help the driver.

An 86-year-old Lowell man was hospitalized Thursday after his pickup truck hit the back of a disabled semi-truck on US-131 in Grand Rapids. Michigan State Police said the crash happened about 5:45 a.m. July 30 on southbound US-131, just south of the Martin Luther King Jr. Street entrance ramp. The preliminary investigation found that the semi-truck had become disabled and was partially blocking the right lane when the pickup hit it from behind.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A Detroit man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-skip crash that killed a 27-year-old Marion man. Ohio State Highway Patrol officers identified 47-year-old Devon R. Kennedy as the driver of the Mercury Grand Marquis involved in the crash. According to OSHP reports, the crash happened Tuesday near Waldo on U.S. Route 23 in Marion County. Kennedy was driving the Mercury when he veered off the road hitting a disabled vehicle.

On Sunday, July 26, 2026, a driver was killed after a vehicle struck a parked 18-wheeler in east Houston, according to the Houston Police Department. Investigators reported that the car was traveling northbound on Dorsett Avenue near Pillot Street at approximately 3:32 a.m. when it hit the parked big rig. After impact, the vehicle traveled into a nearby grassy area along a fence and caught fire. The Houston Police Department is investigating the crash.
