2 people struck, killed by semitruck while checking flat tire on I-94
CALHOUN COUNTY, MI — Two people were killed when a semitruck hit them on I-94, the Michigan State Police said. The crash occurred around 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, on eastbound I-94 near 22 ½ Mile Road in Marengo Township. The truck hit and fatally injured two motorists who were on the shoulder of the road after exiting their truck to check on a flat tire, MSP said after a preliminary investigation.

DALLAS — A 36-year-old man died overnight Monday following a three-vehicle crash that shut down US 75 for hours. The crash was reported around 8:55 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, in the southbound lanes of US 75 near Belt Line Road, the Richardson Police Department said in a press release. Investigators found that the driver of a Ford pickup with a blown tire was traveling slowly in the southbound lanes of US 75 when it was hit from behind by an Infiniti sedan, officials said.

PALM BAY, Fla. — A fatal chain-reaction crash on Interstate 95 in Titusville began when a driver struck an alligator in the roadway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened near mile marker 214. Troopers said the driver of a Mercedes attempted to avoid the alligator but ultimately hit the animal, causing catastrophic damage to the vehicle and leaving it disabled in the roadway. A woman driving a pickup truck behind the Mercedes then tried to avoid the wreck, investigators said.

Two people are injured after a vehicle with two passengers crashed into an unoccupied vehicle in the evening Aug. 28, LMPD spokesperson Chris Baker said in a statement. At around 10:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disabled vehicle on southbound Interstate 265 near the Shelbyville Road exit ramp. LMPD also received additional calls that said a second vehicle had crashed into the disabled vehicle, Baker said. Police, the Louisville Fire Department and emergency medical services responded.

A pedestrian standing next to their apparently disabled vehicle was fatally struck in a hit and run that temporarily shut down local lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway early Friday on the South Side. State troopers responded to the local lanes near 47th Street around 2:40 a.m. where a person standing next to their stopped vehicle on the left shoulder was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, Illinois state police said.

Newark, NJ — August 25, 2026, Ayesha Wright and Kendra Rouse were killed in a truck accident at about 9:10 a.m. on Phillipsburg-Newark Expressway/Interstate 78. Authorities said a Chevrolet sedan was stopped in the left lane near at mile marker 56.8 when it was hit by an eastbound Mack semi-truck hauling a utility trailer. The truck tried to swerve to avoid the collision, but ended up overturning onto the car.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The driver of a box truck died Tuesday morning after he collided with a semi-truck on I-95, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. FHP says that at around 5:35 a.m., the driver of a box truck, a 39-year-old from Miami, was traveling northbound on I-95 just south of State Road 9B, while a tractor-trailer was parked in the right emergency lane. According to the crash report, the box truck had drifted off the roadway and into the rear of the trailer.

SUMNER COUNTY —The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian that occurred just after 8p.m. Friday in Sumner County. The Kansas Turnpike Authority reported a 2014 Chevy Express driven by Fernando Martinez Gonzalez, 31, Kansas City, Missouri, was northbound on Interstate 35 just south of Mulvane. The van struck a pedestrian identified as Shyann Clark, 18, Atlanta, Kansas, who was running across the road from a disabled vehicle.
