One dead after striking a disabled car in Clarendon County
CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. — One person is dead after striking a disabled car in Clarendon County early Monday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The accident happened around 3 am Monday on US 521, near the intersection on Bancroft Road, about eight miles east of Manning. Troopers say an unoccupied 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis was disabled on US 521 after a collision with a deer when a 2011 Land Rover SUV traveling south struck the disabled car.

WILKES COUNTY, N.C. — A man is dead after he was hit by a car in Wilkes County. NC State Highway Patrol said they responded to a crash Monday on Clingman Road at Bethel Road around 7 p.m. When troopers arrived, they discovered a 1990 Ford F-250 traveling north on Clingman Road struck a pedestrian who was in the northbound lane directing traffic after his car had become disabled and was partially in the roadway.

(KRON) – A fatal collision has left a man dead in Antioch early Sunday morning, according to Contra Costa California Highway Patrol. At 5:13 a.m., a CHP officer noticed a two-vehicle crash eastbound on Highway 4 in Antioch. The collision involved a gray Honda CR-V and a blue Ford F-150. Both vehicles were driven by men with no other passengers. According to the investigation, the Honda was disabled for an unknown reason in the fourth lane.

A multi-vehicle accident on Friday morning turned fatal for a Caldwell woman when her car struck a semi-truck. Idaho State Police are reporting that the deadly crash happened a few minutes before 11 on Friday morning. The accident happened in Canyon County at Cleveland Boulevard and Canal Street. In the police news release report, it states that the 42-year-old female was driving westbound on Cleveland Blvd when she veered off to the right in her 2011 Ford Focus.

SHELBY COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an early morning fatal crash in Shelby County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the crash happened just after 2 a.m. Friday morning near milepost 68 on I-75. Law enforcement has not released the name of the driver killed until the next of kin can be notified. They say that they were driving north when their vehicle drove off the right side of the road and hit a semi that was stopped on the shoulder.

BLUE EARTH — A 21-year-old Willmar woman was injured when she was struck by a disabled car she’d been standing near early Wednesday morning on the south edge of Wells. Breanna Angel Larson was near a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt parked partially on a Highway 22 lane at 6:33 a.m. when the vehicle was struck by a southbound 2020 Freightliner semi. The car then hit Larson, the State Patrol said. She was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital in Blue Earth, the patrol said.

DALLAS — A 26-year-old woman died after an SUV hit her along the side of North Central Expressway/U.S. 75 in Dallas on Monday night, police said. Elizabeth Reyes was identified as the victim, according to a police news release. Police said Reyes was standing on the left shoulder of the southbound lanes of the highway near McCommas Boulevard, waving traffic by as a man changed a flat tire. An SUV that was heading south in the far left lane hit a retaining wall, and then crashed into Reyes, police said.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Interstate 75 southbound near Bonita Beach Road. Troopers responded to the scene located near mile marker 117 at around 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday. According to FHP, a 33-year-old man from Fort Myers was driving a vehicle south on I-75 in the outside lane north of Bonita Beach Road. A semi-truck, operated by a 45-year-old woman from Cape Coral, was parked on the outside paved shoulder of I-75S.

CALHOUN COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - A Georgia man was killed in a crash Oct. 4 when his car was hit by a tractor-trailer on I-20 in Calhoun County. The victim has been identified as George H. Curtis of Villa Ricca. He was 59. Authorities say Curtis’s Honda initially hit a Freightliner tractor-trailer. That accident caused the Honda to become disabled and then a Volvo tractor-trailer struck the disabled Honda. After the second crash, the Honda and Volvo tractor-trailer left the road and caught fire.
