Detroit man arrested and charged in Columbus, accused in deadly hit-skip crash
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A Detroit man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-skip crash that killed a 27-year-old Marion man. Ohio State Highway Patrol officers identified 47-year-old Devon R. Kennedy as the driver of the Mercury Grand Marquis involved in the crash. According to OSHP reports, the crash happened Tuesday near Waldo on U.S. Route 23 in Marion County. Kennedy was driving the Mercury when he veered off the road hitting a disabled vehicle.

On Sunday, July 26, 2026, a driver was killed after a vehicle struck a parked 18-wheeler in east Houston, according to the Houston Police Department. Investigators reported that the car was traveling northbound on Dorsett Avenue near Pillot Street at approximately 3:32 a.m. when it hit the parked big rig. After impact, the vehicle traveled into a nearby grassy area along a fence and caught fire. The Houston Police Department is investigating the crash.

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) - A tractor trailer driver was injured and taken to the hospital after a crash on Interstate 81 southbound on Tuesday morning, according to Virginia State Police. VSP responded to a crash between two tractor trailers around 7 a.m. Tuesday on I-81 south near the 232.9 mile marker. VSP’s preliminary investigation indicates one tractor trailer was disabled on the right shoulder with warning triangles deployed, and a second tractor trailer was changing from the left lane to the right lane when it entered the shoulder and hit the rear tandem axle of the disabled tractor trailer.

SALINE COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) - A man is dead after a crash Tuesday morning in Saline County in which a vehicle hit men working in a construction zone. The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the worker killed as 55-year-old Toby Marco, from Abilene. Two others had minor injuries, according to the KHP report. The KHP said that at 9:46 a.m. on Tuesday, a truck was headed north on I-135 in Saline County, just south of Smolan Road, when the driver crossed onto the right shoulder and hit a legally parked vehicle.

A woman was struck and killed on the shoulder of I-57 on Chicago’s South Side Sunday night, and a man who got out to help her was struck too. At 8:51 p.m. Sunday, a woman had gotten out of a sport-utility vehicle on inbound Interstate 57 at Halsted Street for unspecified reasons, and she was on the shoulder of the expressway when a passing vehicle struck her, Illinois State Police said.

A multi-vehicle crash on the westbound 210 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley left several people injured and lanes closed for many hours Saturday night. A car was reportedly driving the wrong way at a high speed on the freeway, which turned lethal when the car crashed into a box truck, officials said. CLEVELAND — A Mansfield man suffered serious injuries and three others were hurt after a Cleveland driver caused a crash involving a parked car and tow truck on the shoulder of Interstate 71 in Richland County. According to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday near milepost 173 of I-71 in Mifflin Township. Troopers say a 36-year-old Cleveland man was driving his 2026 Ford Bronco south on I-71 when the car went off the left side of the highway and struck a Lexus that was parked on the left shoulder.

A Chevrolet pickup truck then struck the Jetta, killing a woman who was its sole occupant.
