NAACP investigates after teen found dead in Wallingford woods 20 days after Feb. crash
The Connecticut National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or NAACP, is investigating after it learned that a 17-year-old’s body was found in the woods 20 days after a crash on Route 15 sparked a multi-agency search in February. The body of 17-year-old Khasir Jennette was found Feb. 21 along the banks of the Quinnipiac River near the Wallingford Compost Center. Jennette had been missing since Feb. 1, when police say he may have fled into the woods after a crash on Route 15 in Wallingford during dangerously cold overnight temperatures, state police said.

AUBURN, Kan. (WIBW) - One person was seriously injured early Thursday when the sport utility vehicle he was driving struck a semitrailer that was parked on the shoulder of Interstate 335 along the Kansas Turnpike southwest of Topeka, officials said. The crash was reported at 6:34 a.m. Thursday on southbound I-335 on the turnpike in Osage County. The location was about four miles southwest of Auburn, or 13 miles southwest of Topeka.

(FOX 5/KUSI) — A woman was killed when a vehicle crashed into the disabled car she was inside of on a San Diego roadway. San Diego Police said the crash happened shortly after 10 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Fairmount Avenue, near Montezuma Road. Police said the woman’s car, a Toyota Camry, was in the second lane with its hazard lights on, and that a man had pulled over his Honda Fit in front of the Camry to help.

Two construction workers were killed after a tractor trailer crashed on Route 30 in Chester County on Monday evening, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. The crash involved several vehicles and happened around 6:50 p.m. on May 18 on the eastbound side of Route 30 near mile marker 270.3 in Valley Township, police said. Despite an active work zone being established by road crews, a tractor-trailer driver is accused of starting a crash involving three other vehicles which hit two construction workers, officials reported.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that killed two people in the early hours of Sunday. At around 1:59 a.m. on Sunday, officers came to the area of US 311 and the Interstate 40 West exit ramp after getting a report of a crash. Police found 54-year-old Shawn Dereck Arthur and 36-year-old Karen Bibb Arthur dead at the scene. Investigators say that Shawn and Karen Arthur were inside a 2008 Toyota that was stopped and disabled on the right shoulder of the exit ramp when a person driving a 2013 BMW ran off the road to the right for unknown reasons and struck the Toyota.

DETROIT, MI – A 30-year-old man was critically injured early Sunday morning when his motorcycle struck a disabled vehicle blocking a lane, according to Michigan State Police. Hours later, a suspected impaired driver crashed into a patrol car at the accident scene. The Detroit Regional Communication Center was contacted about the motorcycle crash shortly after midnight Sunday on eastbound Davison Avenue, near Second Avenue. When troopers arrived, they found the man on the ground near his downed motorcycle.

BERKS CO., Pa. - The Berks County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a man who died in a crash on I-78 in Berks County Friday night. Donald Gene Hausenfluck, 61, of San Antonio, Texas, was operating a tractor trailer on I-78 westbound in Upper Bern Township on Friday at approximately 11:48 p.m.., the coroner’s office said. For unknown reasons, his vehicle left the roadway and struck another tractor trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the interstate, according to officials.

A collision on Route 28 took the life of a 22-year-old driver in Pembroke early Friday morning. Around 6:13 a.m., Pembroke Police received a report of a crash involving three vehicles in the southbound lane of the road, according to Chief Dawn Shea. A truck with Hudson-based Continental Paving had stalled in the breakdown lane while the driver was in the process of putting up road construction signs. The driver of a Chevrolet Colorado passing the construction vehicle slowed to yield to oncoming traffic, which is when the third vehicle struck the Colorado from behind, according to Shea.

HOBART, Ind. (WLS) – A 19-year-old, 9-year-old and 5-year-old were killed early Friday morning in a crash in northwest Indiana. Indiana State Police said its troopers responded to the crash on southbound Interstate 65, about 1 mile south of Ridge Road in Hobart, about midnight. Responding troopers found a crashed blue Ford Explorer, which was facing west and blocking the right two lanes. ISP said the Ford’s driver, a 31-year-old Gary woman, was heading south in the right lane when she allegedly fell asleep and veered off of the road.

SAN ANTONIO - A man has died after being struck by a car following a wreck. The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. near Binz Engleman and I-35. According to the San Antonio Police Department, the man was traveling northbound when he lost control of his car and hit a guardrail. He exited the vehicle when he was struck by another car, killing him. The car fled the scene.
