SUV hit by tractor-trailer after rain causes driver to crash in Cumberland Co.
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — One person is hurt after they crashed their car on a rainy road and were subsequently hit by a tractor trailer on Tuesday in Upper Allen Township, police say. According to the Upper Allen Township Police Department, the crash happened around 12:15 p.m. on Rt. 15. Police say an SUV was driving north when the driver lost control because of standing rain water on the road.

A collision involving a truck tractor-trailer and a passenger van on the Willits Bypass section of Highway 101 early this morning resulted in one person sustaining major life-threatening injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officer Olegario Marin of CHP’s Ukiah Office told us the incident occurred at approximately 1:38 a.m. near MPM44 prompting a response from both California Highway Patrol’s Garberville Laytonville Resident Post and Ukiah Area Office. Reports indicate that the van, identified as an Econo-type passenger vehicle, was stationary in the traffic lane without any illuminated lights when it was struck by a loaded truck and trailer.

POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A collision on Interstate 95 led to the closures of the northbound lanes near Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach, leading to at least one fatality. The incident, occurring just before 1 a.m. Monday, forced emergency crews to shut down the road as they cleaned up the scene. The Florida Highway Patrol has since reopened the lanes, though the express lanes remain closed as the investigation continues.

A hit-and-run box truck driver fatally struck a 68-year-old motorist parked on the shoulder of a Queens expressway just outside Kennedy Airport, cops said Monday. The box truck driver was headed east on the Nassau Expressway when he crashed into a Honda CR-V near the JFK Expressway about 1:15 p.m. Sunday, cops said. Medics rushed U Fo Ng, the 68-driver of the CR-V, to Jamaica Hospital, where he later died, police said.

A motorist attempting to fix their disabled vehicle was struck and killed by another car on the 91 Freeway in Orange County early Monday. KANSAS CITY—Two people died in an accident just after 11a.m. Sunday in Kansas City. A Hino box truck was northbound on Interstate 435 at U.S. 200 in Kansas City, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez. The truck rear-ended a Ford Fusion that may have been slowing down or stopped in the #3 lane of travel. The driver and rear seat passenger in the Ford Fusion were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Gonzalez.

TACOMA, Wash. - A man whose car was stopped on I-5 died in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning. According to Washington State Patrol (WSP), one vehicle was stopped in two lanes of I-5, facing perpendicular on southbound I-5 near the State Route 16 interchange. Another car was traveling down I-5 and struck the stopped vehicle. WSP says a 39-year-old man from Temple, Texas, was the driver of the car that was stopped, and he was killed in the crash.

Troopers said David Erikson, of Eight Four, Pennsylvania, died after the car he was driving struck an unloaded log truck along South Route 19 near the crest of Powells Mountain, near Birch River. Nicholas County 911 received a report of the crash just after 9 p.m. on Friday.

(KGET) — A Lake Isabella woman was killed after veering off the road and crashing into the back of a pickup truck along Highway 58 on Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The California Highway Patrol said officers responded to a collision involving two vehicles on Highway 58, west of Washington Street, just after 12:19 p.m. Investigators said an 85-year-old woman was traveling westbound on Highway 58 just west of Washington Street when for unknown reasons, she veered out of traffic lanes and into the back of a pickup truck stopped on the right hand shoulder of the road.

JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – One person was killed during a crash on Interstate 59 in Jones County. Firefighters responded to the scene around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28 on I-59 near the 105 mile-marker. When firefighters arrived at the location, officials with the Jones County Fire Council said they found debris from the road to the black sedan, which was 200-300 feet off the road and down an embankment.
