Chesapeake driver killed after stopping on I-664 shoulder in Suffolk
SUFFOLK, Va. — Virginia State Police (VSP) say a man has died after a vehicle crash on the interstate in Suffolk Tuesday morning. Officials say VSP responded to a two-vehicle crash around 1:15 a.m. and investigations showed that 39-year-old Corey L. B. Knight of Chesapeake was driving a 2023 Volkswagen GTI on I-664 S near College Drive when he pulled off to the right shoulder, activated emergency hazard lights and exited the vehicle.

A 22-year-old driver died early Tuesday after authorities say he might have fallen asleep on a Fresno highway. The California Highway Patrol determined that the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on southbound Highway 41, just north of the transition to Highway 99 when the driver of a Toyota Camry allowed the car to veer off the roadway. The Camry drifted onto the right shoulder and traveled in a southwesterly direction up an embankment before striking a concrete pillar, CHP said.

A Michigan man died early Tuesday morning following a crash where a semi-truck went off the road and hit multiple things, including a disabled vehicle, in Tipp City. The crash was reported around 12:52 a.m. on Interstate 75 near Ohio 571. Ralph Deaton, 56, of Adrian, Michigan, succumbed to his injuries on the scene, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. A preliminary investigation showed Deaton was driving a semi-truck north on I-75 when the semi went off the right side of the road and hit a disabled vehicle.

The body of a Pennsylvania man went undiscovered for more than a month after his SUV plunged off a bridge and sank in an icy lake, according to investigators in West Virginia. Kevin C. Lataille, 59, was found 39 days after he encountered a jack-knifing 18-wheeler on Interstate 68’s Cheat Lake Bridge near Morgantown, the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office said in a March 3 news release. His death went unnoticed because the trucker involved didn’t report an SUV fell from the bridge during the Jan.

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Three people were hurt in a crash on I-95 that caused delays in Warwick Monday morning. Rhode Island State Police said just before 10 a.m., a Jeep was driving south near Exit 27B when it veered off the road and hit a parked tractor-trailer. The Jeep ended up in the center lane and was then struck by another car. The driver of the Jeep was brought to Rhode Island Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Authorities announced the discovery of a body belonging to a Washington state woman in Oregon after she had been missing for eight months. There have been six deaths across five crashes in Flagler, Clay and Columbia counties Sunday morning. An investigation is underway in Arizona after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 left at least six people dead and more than a dozen injured. According to information provided by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, just before 1 p.m. local time on Saturday, troopers responded to the area of I-10 eastbound near milepost 89, west of Tonopah, for a crash involving multiple tractor-trailers and passenger vehicles. Several of the vehicles caught fire after the crash, officials said.
