Bexar County constable injured after Amazon truck crashes into his vehicle while off duty
SAN ANTONIO — An off-duty Bexar County constable was seriously injured after an Amazon crashed into his vehicle from behind on the northeast side of town. It happened around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning on I-35 South at Crosswinds Way. The 62-year-old off-duty constable was working in a construction zone in an SUV with his emergency lights on when the Amazon 18-wheeler truck driver hit him from behind. He told emergency workers that he could not feel his legs.

Hillsborough County, FL (April 9, 2025) – Emergency responders rushed to the scene of a fatal hit-and-run crash late Tuesday night on Interstate 75 after a Kentucky man allegedly fled the site of a deadly collision that claimed one life. The tragic incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 near Bruce B Downs Blvd. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Noah Alexander Riley of Campbellsville, KY, was driving a Ford F-350 while towing a cattle trailer when his vehicle veered onto the shoulder of the highway.

Iredell County, NC — April 8, 2025, Justyn Jenkins was killed in a truck accident at about 3 a.m. on southbound Interstate 77 near Davidson. Authorities said a 2019 Freightliner semi-truck crashed into a 2021 Hyundai Kona that was disabled in the road, without lights, because of an earlier accident. Hyundai driver Justyn Jack Jenkins, 26, died at the scene of the crash, according to authorities. The truck driver, who was not injured, will not face any charges in the crash, authorities said.

KALAMAZOO COUNTY - A semi-tractor trailer crashed into a car that was parked partially in the road on I-94, sheriff’s deputies said. The driver of the car was hospitalized. The crash was reported at 5:11 a.m. Monday, April 7, on westbound I-94, west of South Ninth Street in Kalamazoo County’s Texas Township, sheriff’s deputies said. Sheriff’s deputies said preliminary investigation suggests the car was parked on the shoulder, partially in a traffic lane, when it was struck by the westbound semi-truck.

A pedestrian who had been involved in a crash was struck by a separate vehicle on Interstate 395 in Griswold on Saturday. State police said a 28-year-old man from Massachusetts was involved in a crash with his vehicle and walked into the highway’s right lane around 8:30 p.m. Authorities said a Kia Sportage that was traveling in the right lane on the southbound side of the highway collided with the man.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A man was killed Friday morning after his car hit the back of an abandoned disabled charter bus that was on the side of Interstate 95 southbound, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Crews were dispatched to the crash site, located just south of State Road 206, at about 11:15 a.m. The man, a 25-year-old from Orlando, was driving a Nissan Altima that “drove off the roadway” and hit the back of the charter bus, FHP said.

CHICAGO (WLS) – The family of a man killed in hit-and-run crash over the weekend is remembering him, and is frustrated by a lack of charges. Calvin Winfield, 48, was a father of nine. He was involved in a crash early Saturday on the Bishop Ford Freeway, near 115th Street. When he got out of his car, he was hit by another vehicle that did not stop. His family said he was on his way home, but never made it.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 22-year-old man was killed in a crash involving a semitrailer on Interstate 71 near downtown Columbus Wednesday morning. Jahara Tunkara was driving a Nissan Rogue northbound near the Interstate 670 interchange around 1:40 a.m. when he came to a stop in the moving lanes of the freeway and remained stationary, according to the Columbus Division of Police. The reason why he stopped is still under investigation.

Police say their preliminary investigation reveals that 48-year-old Jose Abel Vasquez was working on his car on the right-hand shoulder of I-40 west between Rock Quarry Road and Hammond Road when he was hit.
