Man Hit, Killed After Exiting Disabled Vehicle On NJ Turnpike In South Brunswick
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A 32-year-old Keyport man was struck and killed by an SUV early Monday morning after he exited his disabled vehicle following a multi-car crash on the NJ Turnpike in South Brunswick, state police said. According to a preliminary investigation, around 4 a.m. Albert R. Masonius was driving a Nissan passenger vehicle southbound when it collided with a Toyota minivan. The impact disabled the Nissan, leaving it stopped in the center lane, police said.

The driver of a sedan was struck and killed early Tuesday morning after exiting his disabled vehicle following a separate crash on Route 1 in Falls Township. Falls Township police responded around 2:25 a.m. to the scene on Route 1 northbound, just north of the Route 13 overpass, for a report of a traffic crash involving a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation found that a black Cadillac traveling north on Route 1 lost control at the overpass, striking the concrete lane divider before coming to rest in the middle of the highway, police said.

Edison, New Jersey (October 22, 2025) — A 60-year-old truck driver from New Orleans was struck and killed Wednesday afternoon while standing on the shoulder of the New Jersey Turnpike in Middlesex County, according to state police. Incident Details: The fatal crash occurred around 2:42 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike near Edison. Authorities said Shawn Mornay was standing on the right shoulder beside his Freightliner tractor flatbed trailer when another Freightliner truck, driven by a 37-year-old man from Blackwood, veered toward the shoulder and struck both Mornay and the left side of his parked vehicle.

One Injured after Driver Hits Car Stopped on Shoulder HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. (Oct. 24, 2025) — A two-vehicle crash early Friday morning left one person injured on the eastbound Pomona 60 Freeway near Hacienda Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision was reported on Oct. 24th around 4:41 a.m. and involved a gray Honda Civic and a gray Toyota sedan. CHP logs indicate that one vehicle was stopped on the right shoulder when it was struck at a high rate of speed by another vehicle.

A Selma man was killed when his vehicle was hit from behind by an 18-wheeler while he was stopped in the road because of a previous crash. Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Kenneth B. Watts. He was 41. The wreck happened at 3:37 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 80 in the Lowndes County city of White Hall. ALEA Capt. Jeremy Burkett said Watts was driving a Buick LaCrosse that was stopped in the road after being involved in a previous wreck.

A service technician was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Route 80 while responding to a stopped vehicle in Warren County, authorities said. Ethan Schultz, 20, of Bangor, Pennsylvania, died when he was struck on the westbound side of the highway at 6:37 a.m. Oct. 23, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron. Based on the investigation, Schultz parked his vehicle on the shoulder in front of a disabled tractor-trailer at mile marker 14 in Frelinghuysen, Lebron said.

SWAN VALLEY — A 30-year-old Idaho Falls man died Monday morning when he struck a cow and his disabled vehicle was then hit by a pickup truck, state police said. The man, driving a 2010 Volkswagen CC, hit a cow on the roadway near Swan Valley around 6:55 a.m. and became disabled in the travel lane state police said, adding that a 2019 Ram 2500 pickup then struck the Volkswagen in thick fog and darkness.
