Passenger hit, killed while walking on I-96 freeway ramp after Detroit crash
DETROIT (FOX 2) - A man was killed after he got out of a vehicle after a crash on an I-96 freeway ramp early Saturday. Police responded to a single-car crash on the I-96 exit ramp to Outer Drive in Detroit around 12:35 a.m. While looking for the initial crash scene, they found a man lying on the ramp. The victim, who was a 41-year-old from Detroit, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

SAN ANTONIO - A good samaritan was trying to help someone stranded on the highway when things turned for the worse on the Northeast side. According to the San Antonio Police Department, the accident happened near the 2900 block of IH 35 North around 8 p.m. Saturday. Police share that a 55-year-old woman was standing in front of her Jeep helping a stranded driver. The woman parked her Jeep in lane three and partially on the right shoulder to help the driver with some jumper cables.

A 12-year-old girl has died after she was struck by a car Wednesday night in Illinois while she was fleeing a crash, authorities said. The Plainfield Police Department said in a news release that the incident included two different crashes around 8:30 p.m. local time near Route 59 and Riverwalk Court. The first collision occurred when a 2009 Nissan Rogue came to a stop sign after turning left off Riverwalk Court to proceed northbound on Route 59, according to police.

Delaware State Police have identified a 78-year old Smyrna man who was kiled in a multi-vehicle accident Thursday morning on Route 1 near the Frederica Turf Complex. According to state police, Larry Cox was driving southbound around 6:30 a.m., when his car struck the rear of the car in front of him. Both vehicles pulled off the roadway onto opposite shoulders, and as Cox attempted to cross the highway, he was hit by a minivan and killed.

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Penn. – Five women from New York, who are believed to be from the same family, were killed on Tuesday when they were hit by a tractor-trailer after exiting their vehicles on Interstate 81 in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania State Police said the crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. in Scott Township, north of Scranton, near mile marker 199.3. According to state police, a 2022 Honda Odyssey, occupied by a female driver and three female passengers, lost control and crashed into the median, leaving the vehicle disabled in the left lane.

GONZALES, La. – Over a dozen vehicles were involved in multi-car pileup early this morning on Interstate 10 in East Baton Rouge Parish. It happened around 5 a.m. on Tuesday on the westbound overpass of I-10 at Siegen Lane. The accidents started when one car had been left abandoned near the top of the overpass, after it either spun out of control or broke down, according to a local towing company, Gonzales Towing & Repair, Inc.

Update: Southbound I-83 in the area reopened around 6:30 a.m. A person involved in a crash early Tuesday morning on Interstate 83 was hit by two vehicles and killed after getting out of their vehicle, according to a PennDOT spokeswoman. The incident happened around 12:45 a.m. on I-83 southbound at mile marker 36.5, which is near the Fishing Creek exit in York County. According to PennDOT, a person got out of a vehicle after a crash in the snow.

What was suppose to be a normal trip for him, turned into a life or death situation because of the icy conditions.

Three semi-trucks were involved in a wreck on Interstate 80 that left cattle scattered over several miles of I-80, according to the York County Sheriff’s Department. At 6:38 p.m. on Monday, deputies were dispatched to a multi-vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes at mile marker 354, according to Sgt. Taylor Samek, according to a news release from the county. Deputies located three separate semi-trucks involved in the collision, along with cattle scattered over several miles of the interstate.

KNOX COUNTY, Mo. — Two northeast Missouri women were taken to the hospital after a rear-end collision in Knox County Tuesday afternoon. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol online crash report, the wreck happened around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on Route V, about 8 miles north of Knox City. The crash report states that James Miller, 57, of Knox City, was stopped at a mailbox on Route V when Katrina Hustead, 37, of Edina, who was traveling north, rear-ended the vehicle that Miller was driving.
