Construction worker killed while trying to help at accident scene in Chillicothe
A construction worker was struck and killed by a vehicle in Chillicothe on Monday morning while he was attempting to clear debris from the roadway after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 29 and Hillcrest Drive. A group of construction workers in Chillicothe witnessed an accident around 6:43 a.m. Monday morning when a vehicle traveling southbound on Route 29 struck another vehicle in the intersection of Route 29 and Hillcrest Drive, according to Chillicothe police.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An early morning crash on I-90 involving two tractor trailers caused the closure of two lanes for several hours on Sunday. The crash occurred westbound near Exit 25A in Schenectady. WETHERSFIELD, Conn. — A crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 91 Southbound in Wethersfield killed three and injured three on Sunday morning, said state police. According to state police, the tractor-trailer was parked on the right shoulder of Interstate 91, north of Exit 25. A 2003 Lincoln Aviator was traveling on Interstate 91 Southbound, for an unknown reason, veered into the right lane and collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer.

Newfield, N.Y. – Two men hit by a vehicle died in Tompkins County Friday night after a man pulled over to help a motorcyclist who crashed. Around 9:35 p.m., police responded to the 2500 block of Elmira Road for a fatal crash in the town of Newfield, Trooper Aga Dembinska, a state police spokesperson, said in a news release Sunday. Patrick Robinson, 42, of Ithaca, was operating of a motorcycle when he lost control on the wet roads and laid the bike down, Dembinska said.

A tanker truck carrying jet fuel struck a pair of stopped cars on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in southeastern Pennsylvania on Saturday, resulting in a fiery crash that killed two people and injured another and closed the highway for hours, authorities said. State police said the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of I-476 on the turnpike’s Northeast Extension just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Worcester Township, Montgomery County. Troopers said a vehicle with a flat tire came to a stop in the right lane of the highway and another vehicle behind it stopped and the driver activated hazard lights.

One person died in a crash in Lebanon late Friday night or early Saturday morning. According to state police, Troop K in Colchester was contacted by concerned family members around 1:30 a.m. Saturday who reported a loved one had not returned home. Troopers began searching for the missing person, who had been traveling in a vehicle. Troopers located the vehicle around 3:40 a.m. According to police, the vehicle went off the road and was found in a heavily wooded area off Norwich Avenue near Savin Lake Park in Lebanon.

The crash happened on I-676 westbound early Sunday just after 4 a.m. The 24-year-old’s car was disabled from a previous crash and was blocking the left lane on I-676 westbound near mile marker 5. A different car was driving in the left lane and struck the woman’s car.

KNOLLS, Tooele County — One person is dead after being hit by a vehicle while pulled over on the right shoulder of Interstate 80 about 14 miles east of Knolls in Tooele County. About 9:10 a.m., a a Mercedes Sprinter van pulling a trailer was pulled over on the right shoulder on eastbound I-80 with the driver outside of the vehicle. A Hyundai Elantra approached the vehicle in the right lane and struck the trailer and then the driver of the van, killing the driver, according to Utah Highway Patrol officials.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — An investigation is underway after a vehicle collision took the life of a Good Samaritan. Lt. Mike McClanahan with the Asheville Police Department (APD) said that they received a call around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18 about a motor vehicle collision in the 1120 block of Sweeten Creek Road. After officers arrived on the scene, Lt. McClanahan said they were able to determine that there had been two different collisions that occurred.
