One killed in NYSP traffic stop crash
SCHROON LAKE, N.Y. — One woman was killed Friday afternoon after her car crashed into a New York State Police vehicle during a traffic stop on I-87 North in Schroon Lake. State police say it happened just after 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Investigations found the state trooper had pulled over a 2011 Mercedes 350 for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, a 2015 Ford Transit with two passengers crashed into the rear of the marked state police vehicle.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Officers were on scene of a pileup involving 12 cars on Powers Boulevard Friday afternoon, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). CSPD said the crash occurred at Stetson Hills and Powers Boulevard around 12:45 p.m. According to police, no one was taken to the hospital, and no serious injuries were reported. Police said a stalled vehicle in the left lane resulted in three separate crashes involving 12 total cars.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — Troopers have identified a man who was struck and killed in a hit-and-run on the West Virginia Turnpike on Friday. Jack Walter, 63, of Middlesex, N.C., was killed when he was struck by a vehicle near the 63 mile marker of the West Virginia Turnpike, according to West Virginia State Police. Family members told WCHS Walter was traveling from his home in North Carolina to meet friends and family in Cincinnati, Ohio, for an NFL game.

WESTBY, Wis. – A 32-year-old man sustained serious injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while standing next to his disabled car on US Highway 14 Thursday night. The accident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. on October 2, just east of Saugstad Road in Westby. Dalton Paulson, 32, was standing outside of his 2015 Hyundai Sonata on the driver’s side. His vehicle was disabled and stopped along the south shoulder of the road because it had run out of fuel.

A truck driver who exited his rig after parking along the side of Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County on Monday was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver, authorities said. Marshall Vizinat was standing along the right shoulder on the westbound side of the highway when he was hit at 7:55 p.m. near milepost 23.5 in Readington, State Police said. The unknown vehicle didn’t stop after striking Vizinat, according to police.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A deadly multi-vehicle crash closed all lanes of Interstate 24 near the Davidson County and Rutherford County line for several hours Wednesday morning. According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the crash was reported just before 2 a.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of the interstate, near the Old Hickory Boulevard exit in La Vergne. TDOT officials confirmed early Wednesday morning that the crash involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle.

Accident Details: The crash occurred around 6:35 a.m. near Saratoga Spa State Park when the tractor-trailer impacted the stopped pickup that had pulled over due to mechanical issues. The pickup’s driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center; the tractor-trailer driver was taken to Saratoga Hospital for evaluation.

Connecticut State Police said the collision happened on the highway at 9:12 a.m. The two men parked separate vehicles along the right shoulder of the highway, just before exit 17, including a Nissan Rogue and a Kenworth T880 truck. Both men were outside their vehicles when a RAM ProMaster van traveling on the right side of the highway hit them for an unknown reason, state police said.

The crash happened around 3:18 p.m. near Almora in Kane County, Illinois State Police said. A Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer was parked on the right shoulder of the interstate, and it was hit by an SUV that crossed into the shoulder for an unknown reason, ISP said.
