NY man killed in fiery crash on Route 440 in Woodbridge
WOODBRIDGE – A 19-year-old New York man died Monday after his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of Route 440. According to the New Jersey State Police, the crash occurred at 12:24 p.m. on the northbound highway at milepost 1.4 in Woodbridge. A preliminary investigation indicates a Freightliner pulling a utility trailer was parked on the right shoulder of Route 440 when a Honda Accord driven by Joey Lopez, of Staten Island, was traveling north, entered the right shoulder and struck the rear of the Freightliner causing both vehicles to catch fire, State Police said.

A passenger in a van that became disabled on the northbound New Jersey Turnpike was killed Sunday night after the vehicle was rear-ended in the right lane, authorities said. Dawn Cole, 80, of East Norwich, New York, was pronounced dead after the crash, which took place shortly before 10:40 p.m. on the outer roadway near Exit 13 in Elizabeth, according to State Police. The van was rear-ended by the front cab of a tractor-trailer that was not towing a trailer at the time of the crash, police said.

HOCKING TOWNSHIP, OH, (April 28, 2023) - Miss Kali Maloney was seriously injured on Friday when the car that she was a passenger in was struck by a tractor-trailer after it crashed on U.S. 33 in Hocking Township. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Maloney, 18, was traveling in a Pontiac G6 that went off the left side of the highway at about 10:08 p.m. and crossed the median, before overturning.

HOCKING TOWNSHIP, OH, (April 28, 2023) - Randi Maddix was tragically struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on Friday on eastbound U.S. 33 in Hocking Township. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Maddix, 33, was trying to help the occupants of a car that crashed when she was hit by the semi-truck at about 10:08 p.m. between Ohio 188 and U.S. 22. Sadly, Maddix was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Two people were killed in two different crashes approximately five minutes apart closing the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 Thursday afternoon in Cherokee County. The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office said the first crash occurred at 4:35 p.m. at the 106-mile marker. Leigh Ann Hamilton Marshall, 56, of Sullivan’s Island, was driving a 2016 Range Rover which went off the left side of the highway, hit a retainer wall and then went back into the path of a tractor-trailer which struck the SUV on the passenger side.

One person was killed and two people were injured when two trucks collided on Route 1 in Smyrna on Wednesday morning, according to Delaware State Police. The identity of the man who died has not yet been released. ESCONDIDO, CA (April 25, 2023) – An Escondido off-duty police officer was hit by a car on 15 Freeway Sunday morning on April 23. The officer was on his way to work when the CHP was notified of a hit-and-run at 10:27 a.m. near Deer Springs Road. Traffic on the freeway had slowed because of a stalled vehicle on the shoulder. The officer got out of his vehicle to help direct traffic, the Escondido Police Department said.
