Evansville man missing for more than a month found dead in crashed car under bridge
EVANSVILLE, Ind — A missing Evansville man was found dead Friday still inside his crashed car that had been out of sight under a bridge for more than a month. Family members reported 47-year-old Brian Colbert of Evansville missing on Dec. 10, 2022. An Evansville Police Department investigation into his disappearance was turned over to Indiana State Police because Colbert was last seen in nearby Princeton. State police said Colbert worked at Toyota Boshoku in Princeton.

Police have no leads after a trucker was struck while tending to his broken down semi truck in Chicago on Sunday night. The incident occurred on January 22nd at 9:36 p.m. in the 10700-block of West Irving Park Road in Chicago, Illinois. According to ABC 7 Chicago, the trucker was parked in the eastbound lanes of the roadway with his flashers on and triangles placed. The driver was then struck by an unidentified vehicle, which fled the scene.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 20-year-old woman was killed in a crash involving two vehicles in Licking County Monday night. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened at approximately 7:10 p.m. on state Route 661 north of Granville in McKean Township. A Jeep Cherokee driven by 20-year-old Emma Bartlett of Newark was traveling northbound when she struck a deer crossing the roadway. The vehicle stopped partially on the roadway. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said it is unknown if the Jeep became disabled.

MINNEAPOLIS – Nine people are recovering from injuries after a pileup Sunday evening on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis. The State Patrol says that troopers responded to a seven-vehicle crash shortly after 8:30 p.m. on westbound I-94 near Franklin Avenue. Nine people from seven different vehicles were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash is under investigation.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash after a disabled vehicle was hit on the side of the highway. The crash happened Friday night around 11 p.m. on southbound State Road 429 near Seidel Road. Troopers said a Nissan Altima was stopped in the outside lane of S.R. 429 south of Seidel Road. The Altima was parked in the outside lane after being involved in a collision around 10 minutes earlier.

A winter storm that dumped several inches of snow across Colorado on Wednesday wreaked havoc on Interstate 70. Multiple crashes involving more than 20 vehicles led to a massive pileup near Strasburg, Colorado, which is just east Denver. “Semis came through here, obviously a little bit faster than they should. Lost control and started just a chain reaction of semi after semi colliding, jackknifing,” Colorado State Patrol (CSP) Cpl. Ian Alvarado told CBS News.

A 33-year-old Bridgeport woman has died after she got out of the vehicle she was driving and was hit by another vehicle on Route 8 in Shelton early Thursday morning, according to state police. State police identified the woman as Joan Marie Forgas and said she was struck around 12:13 a.m. They said the Jeep Grand Cherokee that Forgas was driving was parked between the right lane and shoulder of Route 8 North, just before exit 13, and she got out of her vehicle.

A semitrailer jackknifed on Interstate 70 in Arapahoe County on Wednesday afternoon, leading to a domino-effect multi-vehicle crash involving eight additional semitrailers and a dozen passenger vehicles. The crash and winter storm conditions forced a shutdown of the highway from Airpark Road to the Kansas border, though no injuries were reported. The crash happened at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near Byers, said Master Trooper Gary Cutler, a Colorado State Patrol spokesman.

Hockley County, TX – January 17, 2023, five people were injured following an accident where a vehicle hitting a cow caused a chain reaction. Officials said they responded to the area of US 62/82 and Foster Road at around 7:30 a.m. According to initial reports, a vehicle traveling along the highway crashed into a cow. This left the vehicle stationary, following which another vehicle crashed into the first one. Five people were taken to the hospital, and injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

It appears that 55-year-old Robert Irving Epps was in a vehicle that became disabled in the center of the freeway. While there, an 18-wheeler slammed into the back of the car.
