52-year-old pedestrian struck, killed by semi-truck in Idaho
BANNOCK COUNTY, Idaho (ABC4) — A 52-year-old Wyoming man was killed after being hit by a semi-truck near Chubbuck, Idaho on Monday, June 26. Idaho State Police say the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on I-86 near milepost 60 in Bannock County. A 50-year-old Nampa man was reportedly driving westbound in a Freightliner semi-truck. Officials say the 52-year-old Wyoming man was “stationary in the right lane of travel” when he was struck by the semi-truck.

June 26 (Reuters) - A Tesla (TSLA.O) vehicle that was operating on its Autopilot software crashed into a stationary truck on a highway in Pennsylvania on Friday night, police said, adding to scrutiny of the automaker’s driver assistance system. The Tesla was traveling in the middle lane when it struck the rear end of a Freightliner semi-truck that was parked in the same lane and providing traffic control for a right lane closure, the Pennsylvania State Police said on Monday.

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. — Three people are dead after a driver hit a disabled car on the shoulder Saturday morning near Michigan City, according to Indiana State Police. The crash was reported around 8:35 a.m. about two miles east of Michigan City on Interstate 94. Sgt. Glenn Fifield said a car was disabled and was on the shoulder with its hazards on when a driver struck the car while driving fast.

TULARE COUNTY – A man was hit and killed in a vehicle accident on Highway 99 shortly after crashing his own vehicle into the concrete wall along the roadway. On June 20, just before 11 p.m., Fresno Communications Center (FCC) received 911 calls of a solo vehicle crash at southbound Highway 99, north of Avenue 328, and that it was partially blocking the fast lane. While officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Visalia Area Office were responding, another vehicle crashed into the first vehicle.

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (WLS) – A pedestrian was killed and another seriously injured in a hit-and-run involving a semi-truck on I-55 in Bolingbrook, blocking traffic Friday morning. Illinois State Police said at 3:16 a.m., a vehicle pulled over on the side of I-55 in the northbound lanes near Route 53 in Bolingbrook. According to IDOT, the vehicle ran out of gas so the driver and the passenger got out. That’s when they were struck by the semi, which then fled the scene.

A driver was killed in a four-vehicle crash on the Palmetto Expressway in Miami-Dade Friday morning, authorities said. The crash happened around 5 a.m. in the southbound lanes of State Road 826 near Interstate 75. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, there were four vehicles involved in the crash: a gray Honda, a silver Nissan, a silver Volkswagen, and a white Ford. All four vehicles were traveling south on State Road 826 within the center outside lane when traffic came to a stop.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WRIC) — Police are investigating after a Maryland man was hit by a car on Interstate 64 and killed Thursday night. Police said the victim, Henry Lloyd Appleby, of Salisbury, Maryland, was driving west on I-64 just after Fort Eustis Boulevard in Newport News when he attempted to pull his 2012 Honda Pilot over to the side of the road. Police said Appleby ended up only partially pulling the vehicle — which was pulling a trailer — out of the left travel lane before coming to a stop.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Details have been released after three people were killed in back-to-back crashes Tuesday morning, June 20 on I-80 in Centre County. Crews were called to the scene at mile marker 156 Westbound just after midnight for a multi-vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment. State police later released a report saying that a tractor-trailer and a passenger car with three people in it collided on the highway.

TUSCOLA, Ill. (WCIA) — The Illinois State Police have revealed that a crash on Interstate 57 Wednesday afternoon was caused by a deer. Officials said that at approximately 1:25 p.m., a car driving northbound hit a deer that ran onto the highway. As the car came to a stop, it was hit by a semi-truck traveling behind it that could not slow down in time. After hitting the car, the truck went off the highway, hit a guardrail and came to a rest across both lanes of traffic.

A Los Angeles man was found dead in his car Saturday morning on a hillside in Thousand Oaks after an earlier crash, Ventura County Sheriff’s officials said. The white sedan was noticed by a passerby around 6:40 a.m. off South Westlake Boulevard, south of Potrero Road, said Ventura County Sheriff’s Capt. William Hutton. A deputy found the car about 75 feet up the hillside, authorities said. The driver was found inside “obviously deceased,” Hutton said.
