Woman, 2-year-old girl struck by vehicle on Roosevelt Boulevard
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman and a two-year-old girl were struck by a vehicle on Thursday night on Roosevelt Boulevard, according to a report from The Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers say the crash happened around 10 p.m. FHP says a vehicle was traveling South on Roosevelt Boulevard when it attempted to switch to the center lane. During so, the driver observed a vehicle stopped with the hazard lights on in the right lane.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — New York State Police are investigating a double fatal crash that closed part of the I-190 southbound early Friday morning in the City of Buffalo. The crash happened just after midnight. Troopers say an SUV driven by Rebecca A. Vosburgh, 36, of Cheektowaga was traveling south on the I-190 when her vehicle struck the guardrail and her vehicle became disabled, block two lanes. A second vehicle, driven by Zoraida Delgado, 27, of Buffalo was also traveling southbound, saw the accident and pulled over to offer assistance.

EAST COUNTY — A Lakeside man was seriously injured early Friday when he was struck by a big rig while standing next to a disabled car alongside Interstate 8 in Alpine, the California Highway Patrol said. The car was also hit in the crash, which happened about 12:45 a.m. in eastbound lanes west of Tavern Road, CHP Officer Matthew Baranowski said. The 26-year old man was standing on the driver’s side of a 2002 Cadillac Eldorado on the right shoulder of the freeway.

GREENDALE, Ind. — A 19-year-old man has died after he was hit while trying to push his vehicle up the road in southeast Indiana, according to Indiana State Police. ISP said it happened Thursday around 7:30 p.m. when 19-year-old Lee Thomas was driving on US 50 in Greendale and his car became disabled in the roadway. ISP said Thomas was trying to push the vehicle while his 15-year-old passenger was steering it from the driver’s seat when he was hit by another vehicle.

Law enforcement and emergency services responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 35 southbound near Ames. Capt. Nicholas Lennie of the Story County Sheriff’s Office said a two-vehicle crash on the interstate caused “a subsequent pile-up” that involved four to six semis, which were found in nearby ditches or jackknifed in the road. He said one of the accidents caused a few minor injuries to the drivers such as scratches, cuts and bruises.

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Midland Police Department is asking for help from the community to solve a case involving a hit and run crash that left one person dead earlier this month. Around 7:25 p.m. on February 7, officers and paramedics responded to the 1800-1900 block of E Interstate 20 north service road after a man was found lying in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian was identified as 51-year-old Lazaro Resendiz Villafuerte.

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) — Two semi-trucks were confirmed to have crashed on I-10 by Florida Highway Patrol officials at the 138-mile marker. Florida Highway Patrol states that a 60-year-old Niceville man stopped his rig in the eastbound lanes with emergency flashers on due to the previous traffic backup. A double-trailer UPS truck slammed into the back of the stopped semi, the reason is still unknown. The UPS driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, the Niceville man died at the scene.

A series of crashes just after 2 p.m. Thursday shut down all southbound lanes of I-41 at WIS 28 at the Dodge-Washington county line. The roadway reopened at about 8:45 p.m. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation said the crash involved 30 vehicles, including six semi-tractor-trailers. Three people were injured with non-life-threatening injuries. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office asked drivers to avoid Interstate 41 southbound between STH 28 and County Highway D in the town of Wayne.

SPRING LAKE, N.C. (WTVD) – The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after one person was killed in a crash Wednesday evening. Fire officials and police in Spring Lake responded to calls about the crash just before 7 p.m. in the 1400 block of Lillington Highway (NC 210). When officials arrived, they found a man lying on the ground behind a small sports car with its hazard lights on in the north bound lanes.

A 10 vehicle pile-up involving 5 tractor trailers and five other vehicles was just one of multiple wrecks caused by an intense dust storm that struck Oklahoma on Tuesday. The dust storm hit the Oklahoma panhandle on February 14th, and the 10 vehicle pile-up occurred at around 11:30 a.m. about a mile west of Goodwell. According to The Daily Telegraph, the pile-up began when a Peterbiolt heading south west on Highway 54 drove into a cloud of blowing dust and soil, which drastically reduced visibility.
