Driver dies after hitting back of tractor-trailer parked on shoulder of I-64
ST. CLAIR COUNTY — The driver of a pickup truck was killed early Friday after crashing into the back of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 64 in Washington Park. The crash happened on eastbound I-64 about 3:30 a.m. Friday, near the Kingshighway/Highway 111 exit in St. Clair County, authorities said. JANESVILLE, Wis. (WLS) – At multi-vehicle crash involving as many as 50 vehicles amid whiteout conditions near the Illinois-Wisconsin border has shut down the roadway Friday afternoon. Beloit Memorial Hospital confirms they have received 27 patients from the crash, WISN reported. The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. near mile marker 181. Both directions of I-39/90 in between Janesville and Beloit were shut down for hours for investigation and clean up. They reopened Friday night.

ORANGEVILLE, Ill. (WIFR) - A 27-year-old man was found dead Thursday morning after a severe car crash in Stephenson County. Crews responded just after 7 a.m. to the intersection of Rt. 26 and Old Route 26 for a report of a damaged car on the side of the road. Thomas Zulke was reportedly driving north on Rt. 26 when his vehicle veered off the road into the southbound lane and into the ditch.

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. - Two Milwaukee women died in a crash in Racine County on Thursday morning, Jan. 26, and it was one of more than a dozen crashes amid slippery conditions. Sheriff’s officials said around 3:30 a.m., a semi rolled over on I-94 southbound, just north of the Highway 20 exit. I-94 and the Frontage Road between the Caledonia area and Mount Pleasant were very slippery, and sheriff’s officials responded to 15 crashes around the same time as the semi rollover.

GEORGIA, Vt. — A pedestrian was injured in Georgia on Thursday after a car lost control and slid off the roadway while a motorist was attempting to help another driver. Vermont State Police said a driver on Highbridge Road in Georgia stopped to help another motorist, identified as 27-year-old Christopher Tuttle of Fairfax, who was standing outside his vehicle after his car had slid off the side of the road due to icy conditions.

SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. (WWBT) -Multiple crashes on I-95 in Spotsylvania involving nearly 20 vehicles are causing significant delays Wednesday evening. On Jan. 25, Virginia State Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash northbound on I-95 at the 116-mile marker. Officials investigated and found three separate crashes involved. VDOT says 18 vehicles were involved in the crash as well. One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They believe the initial crash caused a chain of secondary, reaction-style impacts after a sedan spun out in the rain.

RAHWAY, NJ, (January 21, 2023) - An investigation is underway following a fatal Saturday evening accident involving two vehicles and a pedestrian in Rahway. According to the Rahway Police Department, the incident happened on the Routes 1 and 9 overpass near Randolph Avenue at approximately 9:31 p.m. 36-year-old Steven Neves De Oliveira was operating a Nissan Frontier along Routes 1 and 9 when he stopped to check his vehicle for tire damage.

FOUR OAKS – One person was injured, Tuesday night, in a serious crash on Interstate 95 near Four Oaks. A 20 year-old Dunn woman was headed south toward home from her Smithfield area job when she reported a driver ahead suddenly applied the brakes, causing her to swerve into the median. Her car traveled through the center-divider cables and stopped in the northbound lanes as her disabled vehicle was now powerless.

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT)- A 29-year-old Winona woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash with a semi. It happened just after 1:00 p.m. in the south bound lanes of Highway 61 south of Sugar Loaf View Rd in Winona. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the semi was parked on the shoulder of south bound Highway 61. A Saturn Vue, driven by the 29-year-old woman, was travelling south bound on Highway 61 when they collided.

EVANSVILLE, Ind — A missing Evansville man was found dead Friday still inside his crashed car that had been out of sight under a bridge for more than a month. Family members reported 47-year-old Brian Colbert of Evansville missing on Dec. 10, 2022. An Evansville Police Department investigation into his disappearance was turned over to Indiana State Police because Colbert was last seen in nearby Princeton. State police said Colbert worked at Toyota Boshoku in Princeton.
