Man pushing broken down car off the road in Savannah hit by driver, victim critically injured
A 21-year-old man is in critical condition after someone crashed into him while he pushed his disabled car off of a Savannah road, according to police. Savannah Police Department released details of the serious injury crash on Friday, saying the crash happened Thursday night. A car driven by Kevin Deal, 21, reportedly broke down at the intersection of Eisenhower Drive and Noble Oaks Drive around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. A stranger stopped to help Deal move the disabled sedan out of the way of traffic, police said in a news release on Friday morning.

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating two separate fatality accidents that occurred late Thursday night. At 11:02pm, Fort Worth FD and PD along with MedStar EMS were dispatched to a crash on the northbound lanes of Highway 287 near Berry Street. Investigators say a vehicle had become disabled on the highway due to ice. A passing driver stopped to help the stranded driver push the vehicle from the highway to the shoulder.

JURUPA VALLEY (CNS) – One person was killed and another injured in Jurupa Valley Friday when they attempted to cross the Pomona (60) Freeway but were struck by a pickup during an insurance information exchange following an accident. The fatality occurred about 1:30 a.m. Friday on the westbound 60, just east of Valley Way, according to the California Highway Patrol. Sgt. Dean Corey told City News Service that the chain of events began when a big rig sideswiped a Mini Cooper, causing the smaller vehicle to collide with a Honda Civic.

The Knoxville Police Department is investigating two unrelated serious crashes, including one that was fatal, a department spokesperson said in a press release. Just after 6 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a multicar crash with injuries on Interstate 40 west near Cedar Bluff Road, the release stated. Police say a Ford pickup truck had broken down and the driver pulled off the road to the left-hand shoulder. It was struck by a Chevrolet pickup and that driver was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the release said.

An accident left a car completely submerged in a Central pond Wednesday night. The accident happened around 9:20 p.m. near the 13000 block of Lovett Road on Feb. 1st. Officials say the vehicle was recovered early Thursday morning to ensure the safety of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Dive Team. Central Police Chief Roger Corcoran said the driver of the submerged vehicle lost control and drifted into the water. The driver had a medical condition and a good samaritan stopped to help.

The Antelope Valley Times News reported a 68-year-old woman was standing in front of her 2004 Toyota. According to the article published online, the Toyota had stopped for and unknown reason and the woman stepped out of her car. Officials said the disabled Toyota was partially blocking the eastbound and westbound traffic lanes of Avenue J at 200th Street East.

A Lexus SUV with one occupant traveling the same direction collided with the Ford.

On Monday, a car traveling west in the Town of Angelica was hit by a tractor trailer after the driver of the car lost control, according to an investigation by state troopers. The car spun multiple times, hit the guide rails on both sides of the I-86. After the car came to a stop on the left side of the interstate, it was hit by a tractor trailer heading west.

Authorities say the incident happened just before 6:00 p.m. on westbound I-86 near Strunk Road. Preliminary investigation suggests Berry was allegedly driving a Toyota Camry east in the westbound lanes, against traffic, when he collided with an oncoming Ram 1500 pickup driven by Todd Town. After the initial impact the Ram was hit from behind by a Freightliner semi-truck.
