Man hit, killed by minivan after exiting vehicle following rear-end crash
ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI – After rear-ending another vehicle, a man got out of his vehicle and was struck by a car and killed Tuesday afternoon. Pau Khan Kap, 72, of Battle Creek, was killed around 5:40 p.m., Dec. 20, on M-89 at the intersection of 6th Street in Gun Plain Township, Michigan State Police said. Kap was driving a Honda minivan when he rear-ended a Toyota SUV that was stopped on M-89, waiting to turn onto 6th Street, police said.

MORTON GROVE, Ill. (CBS) – Police are investigating a crash after a person is critically hurt after a traffic crash in Morton Grove Wednesday morning. Morton Grove police responded to the area of Dempster and Austin for a traffic crash around 3:53 a.m. Initial reports say a 2010 White Nissan SUV was traveling eastbound on Dempster approaching Austin when the rear passenger fell out of the vehicle onto the roadway.

WASHINGTON, MO, (December 20, 2022) - A 45-year-old man lost his life Tuesday afternoon when he was hit by a motor vehicle along Missouri Highway 47 in Washington County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Robert W. Wilkinson, of Blackwell, stopped a 2017 Buick Encore along the right shoulder of Highway 47 and exited the vehicle. Soon after, Wilkinson was standing near a 2007 Ford Fusion parked along the left shoulder when a southbound 2000 Ford F-350 pickup truck crashed into the back of the Fusion and then hit Wilkinson.

Covington, LA — December 18, 2022, one person died in a collision with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 12 in St. Tammany Parish. Authorities say the incident happened Sunday along I-12 near Highway 21. Preliminary investigation suggests the victim was traveling east on the highway when their vehicle became disabled for unknown reasons and stopped in the left lane. Reports indicate the car’s lights weren’t on when an eastbound semi-truck approached from behind and rear-ended it.

Redmond Police say a semi-truck driver who tried to cross Highway 97 on foot was struck by another vehicle and killed Monday night. It happened at about 7:00 p.m. on southbound Highway 97 just north of the SW Yew Avenue Exit on the south end of town. Redmond Police say that the semi driver parked on the northbound shoulder. For reasons that are unknown, the driver got out and tried to cross five lanes of highway.

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WMBF) – A St. Pauls woman was hit and killed along I-95 near Lumberton after being involved in a separate crash. Troopers with the North Carolina Highway Patrol were called just before 6 p.m. Tuesday to the northbound lanes near mile marker 26. According to First Sgt. S.B. Lewis, Erline B. White, 60 of St. Pauls, was in a single-vehicle crash that caused property damage. She exited the vehicle and attempted to run across I-95, the investigation found.

Police told us the call came in at 6:30 a.m. Police said a truck had broken down in the middle of Binford, and a second vehicle then hit the truck from behind.

It appears that a man was in a sedan traveling along the highway when the vehicle broke down. The driver got out of the vehicle and was by the front of the vehicle.

A woman has died after she was ejected from her vehicle during a crash on Interstate 91 south in North Haven and struck by another vehicle on the highway on Sunday night. State police said 23-year-old Cassandra Carlson, of North Haven, was driving a Subaru Wrx in the left center lane when she collided with a Honda Accord around 8:40 p.m. The collision caused the Honda to spin out into the center median and then strike the guardrail.
