SCHP: Tractor-trailer collides with disabled truck, causing fiery crash on I-95 in Dillon County
DILLON COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - A fiery crash had all lanes shut down Tuesday morning on the southbound side of I-95 in Dillon County. According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 6 a.m. half a mile north of Exit 181B-South Carolina 38 Westbound to Bennettsville on I-95. Master Trooper Brian Lee said a Chevrolet truck was disabled in the southbound lanes when a tractor collided with it.

A man was killed when the tanker truck he was driving overturned and caused a fuel spill Monday evening that closed a lane of Peach Orchard Road through Tuesday morning. Kenneth Allen Key, 55, of Keysville, was pronounced dead at the scene, Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said early Tuesday. Key was driving an 18-wheeler south on Peach Orchard shortly after 9 p.m. Monday when the truck hit an abandoned vehicle on the southbound shoulder of the road, about a mile south of Mims Road, according to Richmond County sheriff’s Sgt.

One person is dead and two others injured after a multivehicle crash on Interstate 270 in Maryland early Sunday morning, police say. In a news release, Maryland State Police said troopers responded to reports of two crashes on the northbound side of I-270 near the Montrose Road exit in Rockville around 3:35 a.m. on Sunday. In their preliminary investigation, police said the drivers of a Tesla Model S and a Toyota Sienna were traveling north on I-270 when the Tesla rear ended the Toyota.

Sep. 19—Two people were found dead in their car Sunday afternoon after a wreck on Ga. 365 over the weekend, according to authorities. The driver, George Sidney Curtis III, 33, of Greensboro, North Carolina, and passenger Anne Marie Langston, 29, of Lula were found dead around 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, though Georgia State Patrol said they believe the crash happened sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning. A Modesto man died Saturday night in a crash on Highway 108/120 east of Knights Ferry in Tuolumne County, according to the California Highway Patrol. The 33-year-old was driving a Honda Civic west on 108/120, east of Tulloch Road, at an unknown speed, when the crash occurred around 10 p.m. “The driver failed to safely negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway and lost control of his vehicle,” according to the CHP.

A major multiple-vehicle crash was reported in North Highlands on September 18, resulting in injuries. The accident occurred along westbound I-80 just west of the Winters Street off-ramp around 5:51 a.m. and reportedly involved seven vehicles. A gray vehicle was allegedly sideways in the number one lane and struck by another car, which set off a chain reaction involving others. Major injuries were reported in the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - UPDATE: All lanes have been reopened. The Pelham Police Department has shut down all lanes of I-65 southbound from exit 246 to exit 242. A pedestrian was hit and killed on Sunday, Sept. 18. Around 1:30 a.m. officers were notified of a stranded motorist in the area. Several minutes later, they were told a pedestrian was hit in the same location. According to Pelham PD, officers are detouring all traffic to Highway 119.

A mother and son have died after they were both struck by a vehicle on Interstate 395 in Montville on Friday night. State police said a Lexus was disabled in the right shoulder of the highway and a Buick was parked in front of it. Around 11:20 p.m., investigators said a Volkswagen traveling northbound in the right lane crossed over the white fog line into the right shoulder and hit the Lexus and the Buick.

Investigators have identified the body of a woman who disappeared after leaving a pub in Hapeville, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office. Yolanda Brown, 53, vanished after driving away from the Irish Bred Pub on Virginia Avenue in Hapeville early Saturday morning on Sept. 3. Surveillance video given to Channel 2′s Ashli Lincoln shows the last known image of Brown. The video shows Brown sitting and talking to a man inside her car for nearly two hours before the man gets out of her car, gets into his and then follows her out of the parking lot.

The driver who was changing a flat tire on the side of I-70 near the Central Park on-ramp was seriously injured when struck by a vehicle early Monday morning. The driver of that vehicle then drove away. It happened in the eastbound lanes of I-70 right after 5 a.m. Anyone who knows about the hit-and-run crash is asked to call the Denver Police Department.
