Fatal Single-Vehicle Accident Occurs Near Auburn
A fatal single-vehicle accident occurred northeast of Auburn, which was reported on December 1 but was believed to have occurred the day before. The collision was reported to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) by a caller who spotted the vehicle but said they didn’t know if the car was possibly abandoned. Responders with the Placer County Fire Department arrived at the scene to discover a white Jeep, which they said came off Foresthill Road in the Todd Valley area and ended up on private property.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man was killed in a crash involving a semi-truck in Arkansas on Sunday. It happened on I-40 in St. Francis County near Forrest City just after 3:30 p.m. The Arkansas Department of Public Safety said the man was standing outside of a GMC Sierra, trying to put gas in the disabled truck, when he was struck by a passing semi-truck. Authorities identified the man as 45-year-old Sircrease Brooks.

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Two people died after crashes in Rockbridge County over the weekend, according to Virginia State Police. Ashley Mason Rhodes, 37 of Virginia Beach, died at a hospital after a crash late Sunday night. Police say she was driving a Nissan Versa southbound on Interstate 81, when she ran off the road, hit a guardrail and came to a stop blocking the southbound lanes. The Nissan was then hit by the driver of a Freightliner tractor-trailer also headed south.

COLUMBIA, Md. — Maryland State Police have photos of one of the vehicles they believe struck and killed a 23-year-old man from Columbia, Maryland who was attempting to pull a woman out of the roadway on I-95 Sunday morning when he was hit. In all, three vehicles struck 23-year old Ceasar Burke, and two left the scene according to Maryland State Police. The car police are now searching for is a black 2009 Nissan Altima with New Jersey tags P92NJE.

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating after a multi-vehicle crash killed a woman on Sunday morning, authorities said. According to BSO spokesperson Carey Codd, deputies received reports of a traffic crash around 11 a.m. near the 5300 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard in Lauderdale Lakes. Investigators said that Lillie Osborne, 69, was driving a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan westbound on West Oakland Park Boulevard in the far-right lane.

I-90 East at West 44th/West 41st Street reopened just before 7 a.m. According to preliminary information from police, a driver in a Dodge Challenger hit the concrete median wall on I-90 east approaching West 41st St. The driver got out of the car, and according to police, stayed within the lanes of traffic.

Around 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving, a vehicle headed south on FM 2931, southeast of Aubrey, left the roadway as it entered a curve. It was raining and the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, causing it to roll over, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Southbound traffic on I-469 between Maplecrest Road and Wheelock Road was slowed for hours Thursday morning following a fatal crash. Police at the scene confirmed with WANE 15 that a woman died after she was hit by FedEx truck. Police say they’re investigating if the woman was having car trouble and had stepped out of her vehicle to flag someone down when she was struck. She has not yet been identified.

Mitchell was trading seats with his partner, Lacey Mobley, after driving the first 10 hours of the trip home to Southern Oregon from Apple Valley, California. Mobley was putting on her shoes and getting ready to walk around the couple’s car when Mitchell was hit by a 2014 Toyota Prius driven by a 55-year-old man from The Dalles.
