2 dead, 1 seriously injured after fiery crash on I-55
CHATHAM, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — UPDATE: A woman is fighting for her life and two people are dead after a semi-truck left the roadway, hit a guardrail, and crossed a median ditch on I-55 near exit 82. Illinois State Police say it then continued into the southbound lanes facing the wrong direction until it became disabled across all lanes of southbound traffic. We’re told a vehicle then crashed into the semi and a second vehicle crashed into it.

PLANT CITY, Fla. - Two drivers, an adult passenger a 12-year-old, and baby were killed following a crash in Plant City that occurred late Sunday night. Several others – both adults and children – were seriously injured. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 20-year-old female driver of a 2015 Ford Explorer was traveling north on State Road 39, near the Bruton Road intersection. The Zephyrhills woman had six female passengers in the SUV: a 56-year-old, a 12-year-old, a 1-year-old, a 22-year-old, a 31-year-old and a 5-year-old.

On Sunday evening, three adults were seriously injured and three children received minor injuries after a van rear-ended a car on I-75 in Fort Myers. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a car driven by a 62-year-old man from Panama City stopped on the outside lane of northbound I-75, south of SR-82, around 5:45 p.m. A van driven by a 59-year-old woman from Lehigh Acres, with two adults and eight children as her passengers, was traveling north in the outside lane of I-75, approaching the car.

That fog is what the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said led to a bad traffic crash earlier today in Baldwin. JFRD said it had multiple crews on the scene for hours. JFRD told Action News Jax that JSO was actually on the scene first after a car ran into a deer that they could not see because of the fog.

UPDATE: A man remains in the ICU Monday after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 in Catoosa County, which shut down a portion of the road for nearly four hours. The Georgia State Patrol confirmed a crash between two cars became a pileup as several other vehicles collided with the wreckage. It happened around 6:00 AM near Cloud Springs Road. Authorities said 37-year-old Wilfredo Diaz initially collided with a car on I-75 Northbound.

QUAY COUNTY, N.M. (KVII) — One man is dead after his vehicle was hit while on the side of the road but still partially in the lane of US Highway 54 in Quay County on Saturday morning. (WRIC) — A Virginia woman was killed, and several people were sent to the hospital Sunday after a “chain reaction-style crash” on Interstate 95 near Parham Road involving seven cars, police said. State police troopers found seven vehicles on I-95 north near the Parham Road exit in Henrico County involved in multiple crashes just before 3 a.m. on Oct. 30, police said Monday. According to state police, the “chain reaction-style crash” began when a Jeep ran off the road and hit a guardrail before spinning back onto the interstate.

EAST DUBLIN, Ga. (AP) — Georgia authorities on Saturday may have found the remains of a man missing a year. Laurens County Sheriff Larry Dean said a deer hunter late Friday found a vehicle registered to Don Hightower off a highway between East Dublin and Wrightsville. Deputies from Laurens and Johnson counties, as well as investigators from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and volunteers, began a grid search early Saturday, Dean said.

BATAVIA, Ohio — One person is seriously injured after a crash in Union Township early Saturday morning, Ohio State Highway Patrol said. Around 7:30 a.m., a 27-year-old man was driving a Hyundai Accent northbound on I-275 near Milford Parkway, and his vehicle became disabled in the roadway. OSHP said that Hyundai was then struck by a Chevrolet van operated by a 56-year-old man. When the Hyundai was struck, the vehicle traveled off the roadway striking a concrete median barrier.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) – A passenger’s assault on a driver prompted a deadly crash that forced all inbound lanes of Highway 290 to shut down Friday morning, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. The crash on Highway 290 at Mason Road was reported at about 5:20 a.m. in the Cypress area. Gonzalez said the crash happened on the inside lane after a passenger in one of the vehicles involved started assaulting the driver.
