Mary Murphy Killed in Possible Multiple Hit-and-Run on I-65 in Nashville, TN
Nashville, TN – May 21, 2022, 60-year-old Mary Murphy was fatally struck by a semi-truck after her car broke down on Interstate 65 in east Nashville. Authorities say the incident happened around 11:00 p.m. on northbound I-65 near East Trinity Lane. Preliminary investigation suggests Murphy’s vehicle broke down in the middle northbound lane; she stepped out for unknown reasons and may have been hit by multiple vehicles and was lying in the roadway when the semi-truck approached and hit her a final time.

Franklin – IR-270 was closed in the area of SR-40 and 270 earlier today for a fatal hit-skip crash. According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, they are investigating a fatal injury crash that occurred at approximately 12:43 pm in the area of IR 270 south about .5 miles north of US Route 40, in Prairie Township. A 2015 white Chevrolet 1500 was traveling south on IR 270. The Chevrolet crossed onto the westside berm for an unknown reason and struck the pedestrian who was walking north on the berm from their disabled vehicle.

A man was killed in Hillsborough Sunday morning while standing outside his car, which had broken down along Interstate-75. When it stopped functioning in the lanes of Interstate 75 early Sunday morning, a second driver was “unable to stop or avoid a collision” and hit the man, killing him, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened at about 2:15 a.m. on I-75 north, around mile marker 263 in Hillsborough.

Sacramento, California (May 21, 2022) – 42-year-old Richard Jooha Lim, of Elk Grove, has been identified as the man who was killed in a collision involving a semi-truck in Galt on Thursday morning. The fatal collision happened at around 11:50 a.m., May 19, on Highway 99 near Simmerhorn Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Lim was driving a minivan northbound on Highway 99 when he swerved to the shoulder and struck a parked big rig.

PHOENIX - One person is dead following a fiery crash involving two semi-trucks along the northbound lanes of Interstate 17 in north Phoenix. The Arizona Department of Public Safety said three Shamrock Farms semi-trucks were traveling along northbound I-17 just after 4 a.m. The first semi, a double trailer, suffered a power failure. The driver of that semi was unable to pull over and stopped in the middle of the highway.

Turlock, California (May 20, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a Friday afternoon tractor-trailer accident that killed a 51-year-old Livingston woman in Turlock. The crash occurred at about 1:27 p.m. on southbound Highway 99, south of Lander Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer operated by Daljit Singh, 54, of Bakersfield, started experiencing a mechanical issue and Singh pulled onto the west shoulder of the highway. A southbound 2011 Buick SUV, driven by the Livingston woman, for an unknown reason, drifted onto the westbound shoulder, directly towards the Kenworth.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A crash involving two semi-trucks has injured one person and caused a brush fire temporarily closing eastbound traffic along Highway 58 in Keene, officials said. One eastbound lane of traffic was reopened at around 3:45 p.m., Caltrans said. The crash was reported just before 1:30 p.m. in eastbound lanes of Highway 58 about 2 miles east of Keene, according to CHP’s Traffic Incident Information Page. CHP reports one of the trucks had stalled on the side of the road when it was struck by another semi-truck.

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Lauderhill police are investigating a fatal crash involving a Good Samaritan who had gotten out of his car to help a stranded driver. The crash occurred just after 11 p.m. Wednesday in the area of State Road 7 and Northwest 26th Street. According to police, the victim, Erick Veilleux, 42, stopped his black, four-door vehicle in the northbound lanes of State Road 7 to help a driver who had become stranded.

Officer Javier Navarro said the victim, whose identity was not immediately released, stopped the International box truck on the right shoulder to refill the radiator, with the help of a companion riding with him.
