4-year-old lifeflighted to hospital after crash on GA 365
A late-night crash Sunday on GA 365 near the Habersham/Stephens County line sent five people to the hospital. Among the injured were two young children, one of whom was airlifted as a precaution. According to the Georgia State Patrol, around 11:30 p.m., a Toyota Camry rear-ended a Honda CRV that was stopped on or near the roadway in the area of Rock Road. The Honda driver, 58-year-old Heather King of Toccoa, “stated she had issues with her steering and traveled to the shoulder,” says GSP Post 7 Commander Donnie Sadler.

Investigators said that an 86-year-old Magnolia Man was in a Toyota Corolla traveling northbound along the freeway. That vehicle somehow collided with a pickup which left the scene afterward.

A woman was taken to hospital early Saturday with serious injuries after being struck while on the roadway of Highway 1 eastbound at the Kensington on-ramp. A blue 2010 Audi A5 with a driver and female passenger had temporarily pulled over to the shoulder of the road and the woman got out of the car. Then the vehicle was struck by a driver in a black 2009 Acura CSX.

A 34-year-old man, from Ellensburg, was hurt after his vehicle crashed into a semi-truck in Snoqualmie Pass. As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place on Interstate 90. The preliminary investigation revealed that 59-year-old Joseph Stygar, from Marysville, was driving a semi-truck west on I-90 when he failed to maintain control on a snowy Interstate 90. After that, the semi jackknifed and ended up blocking three of the four lanes.

Five people were transported to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 south in Westport on Saturday morning. Firefighters were called to I-95 south between exits 17 and 16 around 5 a.m. When crews arrived, they said they found a multi-vehicle crash with heavy damage to both vehicles and numerous patients. Additional ambulances were requested to the scene. In total, five people were transported to the hospital, firefighters said.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A driver was killed after getting out of his disabled vehicle on I-95 in Brevard County Saturday morning. Investigators say the man’s Nissan Altima hit a guardrail in the northbound lanes at mile marker 189 just after 5:30 a.m. A good Samaritan stopped to help and got him out of the vehicle, then both the driver and the pedestrian were hit by a car. The drivers and the pedestrian were taken to Viera Hospital, where the Altima driver was pronounced dead.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A man is dead and three others are critically injured after a crash on eastbound Kellogg early Saturday morning. The Wichita Police Department (WPD) says shortly before 2 A.M., officers were called out to an injury accident on Kellogg near Armour. The initial call reported a single vehicle involved in a rollover crash with two people inside. WPD says when officers got on scene, they learned a second crash involving a motorcycle had happened right after the first crash.

Two men died Thursday night after they were hit by two vehicles after getting out of their car on the Capital Beltway in Fairfax County, Virginia. Virginia State Police were called to the crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 495 near Exit 176 (Telegraph Road) shortly after 11 p.m. Police believe the victims’ Toyota Corolla stopped in the center lane, and the driver and passenger got out. It’s not clear why their car stopped, but police say that moments later, a Ford Ranger struck the two people and their car.

A woman crashed into a Texas ravine, where she became trapped for about two days, according to local reports. She lost consciousness for an undetermined amount of time, authorities said, but after about 40 hours, she managed to climb from the wreckage and out of the ditch, KTBC reported. Upon escaping the crash, “about 16 feet into a creek bed,” she flagged down a driver passing by, KXAN reported. That driver called 911 on Saturday, May 7.

HARRIS COUNTY – A Harris County Sheriff’s deputy has died after being involved in a crash with an 18-wheeler on SH-249 Wednesday afternoon, officials say. HCSO Sheriff Ed Gonzalez identified the deputy as 27-year-old Harris County native Robert Adam Howard. Howard was a Cypress Woods High School graduate. Gonzalez said the deputy was a member of the HCSO’s Gang Unit and started at the sheriff’s office two years ago. He was also a husband and the father of a 2-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son.
