I-85 back open in Gaston County after crash near US 321
GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — All lanes of northbound Interstate 85 in Gaston County near U.S. 321 are back open after a crash early Thursday morning, police said. Gastonia police said the crash happened on the off-ramp to Exit 17 around 4 a.m. Officers said a flatbed truck that broke down was hit by a car on the ramp. The driver of the car was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.

Ypsilanti Township, MI – March 23, 2022, a person in a parked vehicle was killed when a semi-truck swerved into it on Interstate 94 in Ypsilanti Township. Authorities say the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. on westbound I-94 near Grove Street. Preliminary investigation suggests that a commercial semi-truck was cut off by another vehicle on the roadway, forcing the truck driver to swerve and causing them to lose control. The truck veered into another vehicle that was parked on the highway’s shoulder for unknown reasons.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - One person was killed in a multi-vehicle wreck on I-65 Thursday morning. According to Kentucky State Police, Christopher Steger, 28, of Harrison, Ohio was killed in one of the crashes. KSP officials responded to the crash around 4:30 a.m. The wreck happened on I-65 southbound at the Kentucky, Tennessee state line. According to police, Steger was driving a 2019 Ford Ecosport south on I-65. Steger entered into the right emergency lane, where he hit a semi-truck and trailer that was parked on the side of the road.

A 39-year-old Red Deer man was killed in a crash near Whitecourt on Tuesday. RCMP’s early investigation suggests the man’s pickup rear ended a semi parked on the side of Highway 43, about one kilometre east of Eagle Tower Road, around 1 p.m. He was the only person in the truck and declared dead at the scene. His name was not shared by Mounties. The semi driver was not hurt.

While there, authorities say a semi-truck going at unsafe speeds crashed into the scene, hitting at least one person who was outside of the stopped vehicles.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Clifton Junior Cottingham, 47, and Roy Melton Jr., 42, were traveling in Cottingham’s pickup truck along I-59 North when they crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer parked on the right shoulder of the road. Cottingham was the driver while Melton was his passenger.

The California Highway Patrol said around 4:15 a.m., a woman in a 2005 Subaru Outback was driving east on Highway 50 in East Sacramento. As the Subaru approached the area of the highway over 59th Street, it veered off the road and struck multiple impact attenuators filled with water, the CHP reported.

Hunt County, TX – February 24, 2022, Julie Ann Burroughs was injured following an accident where multiple trucks crashed on the icy freeway. Investigators reported that the series of events took place at approximately 7:45 a.m. along I-30 near mile marker 99. Officials said that the roads were icy at the time of the crash. Apparently, a previous crash occurred, leaving a Ford Mustang stationary in the lanes of travel. Reports said that the driver of that vehicle, identified as 58-year-old Julie Ann Burroughs, was outside the vehicle nearby.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol released preliminary details into last week’s massive, deadly pileup on Interstate 57 in Mississippi County. Three online reports show there were three crash scenes involving a total of 33 vehicles near Charleston at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 17. Most of the vehicles involved in the multi-vehicle crashes were semi-trucks, including ones with tractor-trailers. The report also shows five people were killed and 15 others were injured.
