According to police, a good Samaritan was among a group of people trying to help drivers in a crash at North Academy Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway on Sunday at about 3 in the morning. A man servicing a box truck on the shoulder of Interstate 215 in Perris was struck and killed Tuesday when a motorist allowed his pickup to drift onto the edge of the freeway and hit him, authorities said. The fatality occurred at about 10:15 a.m. on northbound I-215, just north of Nuevo Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officer Javier Navarro said the victim, whose identity was not immediately released, stopped the International box truck on the right shoulder to refill the radiator, with the help of a companion riding with him.

A late-night crash Sunday on GA 365 near the Habersham/Stephens County line sent five people to the hospital. Among the injured were two young children, one of whom was airlifted as a precaution. According to the Georgia State Patrol, around 11:30 p.m., a Toyota Camry rear-ended a Honda CRV that was stopped on or near the roadway in the area of Rock Road. The Honda driver, 58-year-old Heather King of Toccoa, “stated she had issues with her steering and traveled to the shoulder,” says GSP Post 7 Commander Donnie Sadler.

Investigators said that an 86-year-old Magnolia Man was in a Toyota Corolla traveling northbound along the freeway. That vehicle somehow collided with a pickup which left the scene afterward.

A blue 2010 Audi A5 with a driver and female passenger had temporarily pulled over to the shoulder of the road and the woman got out of the car. Then the vehicle was struck by a driver in a black 2009 Acura CSX.

Firefighters were called to I-95 south between exits 17 and 16 around 5 a.m. When crews arrived, they said they found a multi-vehicle crash with heavy damage to both vehicles and numerous patients. Additional ambulances were requested to the scene. In total, five people were transported to the hospital, firefighters said.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A driver was killed after getting out of his disabled vehicle on I-95 in Brevard County Saturday morning. Investigators say the man’s Nissan Altima hit a guardrail in the northbound lanes at mile marker 189 just after 5:30 a.m. A good Samaritan stopped to help and got him out of the vehicle, then both the driver and the pedestrian were hit by a car. The drivers and the pedestrian were taken to Viera Hospital, where the Altima driver was pronounced dead.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A man is dead and three others are critically injured after a crash on eastbound Kellogg early Saturday morning. The Wichita Police Department (WPD) says shortly before 2 A.M., officers were called out to an injury accident on Kellogg near Armour. The initial call reported a single vehicle involved in a rollover crash with two people inside. WPD says when officers got on scene, they learned a second crash involving a motorcycle had happened right after the first crash.

It’s not clear why their car stopped, but police say that moments later, a Ford Ranger struck the two people and their car.
