Driver dies after getting out of crashed car, getting hit by another driver
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Lauren Virginia Davis, 25 of Roanoke, died Sunday morning after being hit by the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta while traveling south along Route 220 in Franklin County. According to Virginia State Police, Davis was driving a Chevrolet Malibu south on Route 220 when she ran off the left side of the road, hit an embankment and overturned. She then got out of the vehicle and was hit in the road by the driver of the Jetta around 2:30 a.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is investigating a crash involving an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck that killed one person on Interstate 35 in South Austin early Friday morning. Austin-Travis County EMS said they responded to the crash at 2:45 a.m. in the 9000 block of South I-35 Southbound, across the street from Foremost Drive. APD said the semi was parked on the right shoulder when it was rear-ended by the pickup truck.

THONOTOSASSA, Fla. — A deadly crash involving a semi-truck and multiple cars has shut down a section of U.S. 301 in Thonotosassa, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Lanes in both directions between McIntosh and Stacy roads on U.S. 301 were reopened around 9:30 a.m., FHP said. It happened just before 3 a.m. Thursday. Troopers say a Tampa woman driving an SUV traveling north on U.S. 301 crossed the centerline of the highway and hit a pickup truck nearly head-on.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is at the scene of a motor vehicle accident on the 4400 Block of Windsor Spring Rd. A vehicle was broken down in the right lane and was hit by a vehicle approaching from behind. Both drivers were taken to an area hospital for treatment. All southbound lanes on the 4400 Block of Windsor Spring Rd are back open.

Lakeland, FL – April 10, 2022, 28-year-old Devin Henkel was killed in a collision with a semi-truck on West Memorial Boulevard in Lakeland. Authorities say the incident happened shortly before 7:45 a.m. on the 2900 block of West Memorial Blvd. Preliminary investigation suggests a commercial tractor-trailer was stopped on the eastbound shoulder with its hazard lights activated. Henkel, eastbound in a Nissan Frontier on the roadway, reportedly veered onto the shoulder for unknown reasons and collided with the stopped truck’s trailer.

A man has been found dead eight days after a collision on a motorway in Oxfordshire, police have said. Officers were called to reports of a black Vauxhall Astra car in the wooded central reservation between junctions 11 and 12 of the M40 on Tuesday. Thames Valley police said it believes the crash happened more than a week earlier, at around 04:20 BST on 5 April. “Sadly a man in his 40s was found to have died,” the force said.

A woman remains in critical condition following a crash on US-23 involving multiple vehicles. The Green Oak Township Police and Fire Departments were dispatched around 5:30pm last Friday to a multi-car crash on northbound US-23 at M-36. Initial reports indicated that a 29-year-old Belleville woman was partially ejected from her vehicle. Arriving police and fire units located the female outside of her vehicle, conscious, but with trauma to her head and face.

Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving multiple vehicles that occurred Monday morning on Interstate 95. On Monday, April 11, 2022, at approximately 4:38 a.m., a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic was traveling southbound on I-95 south of Route 141. At this time, a 2011 Dodge Ram was also traveling southbound on I-95 in the area of the Sonic. For reasons unknown, the Sonic struck the right rear corner of the Ram, which caused the operator of the Sonic to lose control and then strike the guardrail along the left edge of the roadway.

SORRENTO - A man who stopped his car in the middle of I-10 in Ascension Parish was struck by two vehicles and killed overnight, police said Tuesday. Louisiana State Police said the crash happened around 1 a.m. on I-10 West near LA 22. According to State Police, 39-year-old Kyle Ripple was struck after he stopped his car in the right-hand travel lane. Investigators believe Ripple was standing on the interstate next to his vehicle when a pickup hit him and his car.
