Mother, Daughter Killed In Separate Hit-And-Run Crashes Weeks Apart
An Atlanta-area family is mourning after experiencing the unfathomable loss of their mother and sister who died in separate hit and run accidents just weeks apart. “It doesn’t add up, because why would you just leave and not even check to see what was going on,” sister Adrienne Gaither told WSB-TV. DeKalb County police say Adrienne’s sister, Jasmine Gaither was a passenger in a car involved in a four-car accident along Atlanta’s busy I-85 highway Friday night (December 3).

A one-month-old child was killed in a car accident on a highway in Florida on Thursday (December 9) morning. The Florida Highway Patrol said the infant was sitting on the lap of a woman in the passenger’s seat when the driver rear-ended a semitruck that was stopped in traffic due to an earlier crash. Officials said that traffic was being diverted after a semitruck lost control and slammed into the guardrail on the Florida Turnpike in Osceola County before bursting into flames.

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - A Richmond woman is dead after police say she crashed into a disabled tractor-trailer on Interstate 64. Virginia State Police were called to the crash in the westbound lanes of I-64 near mile marker 213 in New Kent County around 11 a.m. Wednesday. According to their investigation, Clarissa Simmons, 20, of Richmond was driving a Buick Encore west on the interstate when she abruptly moved from the right lane to the left lane.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A woman has died at UAB Hospital a month after a crash on I-59/20. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Keisha Camille Underwood of Fairfield. She was 52. On November 8, 2021 Underwood was a passenger in a vehicle traveling south on Interstate 59/20 near Arkadelphia Road. The driver hit the rear of a disabled vehicle that was stopped in a southbound lane.

He was involved in an accident that threw him from his vehicle into oncoming traffic and was run over by a car that just kept going. “He had a great future ahead of him. He was loved by many,” said father Ricardo Henry. “Just a beautiful soul,” said Angela Henry, the victim’s mother.

Gaines County, TX – November 12, 2021, Johnny Eugene Rockey was injured following an accident where Rockey’s vehicle crashed into an 18-wheeler. Investigators reported that the crash took place at around 7:06 p.m. along US Highway 180 at County Road 441. Preliminary investigations said that 49-year-old Johnny Eugene Rockey was in a Ford F-150 traveling westbound on US 180. The pickup somehow went onto the shoulder where it crashed into the back of a parked 18-wheeler.

MUNSTER, Ind. (WLS) – A crash on eastbound I-80/94 involving three semi-trucks has caused a massive traffic backup Tuesday morning. The crash occurred just after midnight Tuesday as a truck trailer full of meat was on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes of I-80/94 near Indianapolis Boulevard when it was hit by a semi-truck carrying 40,000 pounds of salt hit the trailer and rolled over. The trailer with meat spilled out on the road and the truck carrying salt also lost its load.

Merrillville, IN – December 6, 2021, 37-year-old Marques White was killed in a collision with a stopped tractor-trailer on the shoulder of Interstate 65 in Merrillville. Authorities say the incident happened around 5:50 a.m. on southbound I-65 near 61st Avenue. Preliminary investigation suggests a commercial 18-wheeler was disabled on the side of the road when White, driving a large box truck, reportedly left the roadway under unknown circumstances and crashed into the back of the semi-trailer.

A 26-year-old woman killed in a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 215 in Riverside was stopped with other motorists because of a disabled pickup truck when a sedan slammed into the back of her car, authorities said Monday. The fatality occurred about 6:30 a.m. Sunday on southbound I-215 near Columbia Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. Sgt. Charles Murray told City News Service that the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup stopped in the fast lane after his rear left tire went flat, at which point three vehicles behind him came to a stop, including a 2018 Honda Civic with a Fontana woman at the wheel, farthest to the rear.
