Pedestrian killed in a hit and run on Carolina Beach Road
A man is dead after being struck by a car along Carolina Beach Road early Sunday morning. According to a news release from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Ammad ONeil Brown, a 25-year-old from Wilmington, was parked with a flat tire sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. Sunday on the right shoulder of Carolina Beach Road between Myrtle Grove and Carolina Beach. Brown was outside his vehicle when he was struck by a car heading north on Carolina Beach Road.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro police said they are investigating a hit-and-run that sent a man to the hospital overnight. The crash happened shortly before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on Shannon Avenue and Pierce Road. Police said the man’s car was hit while he was changing a tire in Madison. He was injured but is expected to make a full recovery. According to police, the driver who hit him took off and has not been caught.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department is investigating after a vehicle hit a woman who got out of her vehicle to help a driver that crashed Wednesday morning on Alcoa Highway. KPD said it initially responded to a vehicle that hit the inside of a concrete barrier on southbound Alcoa Highway near the exit ramp to Kingston Pike around 5:22 a.m. The crashed vehicle came to a stop in the left lane, and two other vehicles not involved stopped to help the driver.

SARASOTA FL - Florida Highway Patrol announced one person died after they were struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross U.S. 41 Sunday evening. The crash took place as a 66 year-old-man was driving a Chrysler van on the inside lane of U.S. 41 approaching the intersection with Springfield Drive. As the van approached a Hyundai Sedan driven by a 67-year-old man from Cape Coral with a 51-year-old passenger from Sarasota, and a 71-year-old passenger from Williamstown New Jersey had stopped in the grassy shoulder just north of Springfield Drive.

SEALY, Texas — The crash happened when a vehicle had a blowout and stopped in the middle of the road, police said.. One person died Monday in an eight-vehicle crash on I-10 in Sealy, according to authorities. According to the San Felipe Police Department, a vehicle had a blowout and stopped in the middle of the road, causing a major crash between eight vehicles, including an 18-wheeler. An 89-year-old man was killed in the crash after his vehicle was hit from behind, police said.

(WANE) A Butler woman was hurt early Tuesday morning after she hit a trailer attached to a semi that was stopped on a county road according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.The woman, identified as Peggy A. Puckett, 72, was driving west on County Road 40 where the tractor-trailer was stopped with its hazard lights on. The driver of the semi was sitting in a forklift at the time.

State Police say a Colorado man was struck and killed on I-10 Sunday night in Calcasieu Parish. Troopers responded on September 19 at 7:45 p.m. to a crash involving a pedestrian on Interstate 10 about 7 miles west of LA Hwy 1256 (Ruth Street) in Calcasieu Parish.The crash claimed the life of 48-year-old David Joseph Williams of Aurora, Colorado. Troopers say an initial investigation revealed Williams and another occupant had pulled their vehicle over onto the shoulder of the roadway.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso police identified the woman who was killed in a crash involving five vehicles early Sunday morning in East El Paso. Investigators said 27-year-old Kandy Abigail Duarte-Cassiano was killed in the five-car pile up that happened at about 2:00 a.m. on I-10 West, near the Fountains at Farah. Officials said a 24-year-old woman driving a 2007 Focus was traveling west on I-10, lost control and hit the cement barrier.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Kansas couple was killed in a crash on Interstate 24 in Tennessee on Sunday morning. Nashville police say 62-year-old Scott Whitmore and his wife, 58-year-old Melanie Whitmore of Topeka, traveling in a 2010 Honda Civic lost control and hit a guardrail on the right shoulder. The Honda then went back into the roadway where a 2017 Ford F-250 hit it. The Whitmores died at the scene and were both wearing seatbelts.
