Texas trucker indicted in crash that killed 2 people on N.J. highway
UPDATE: This story was updated on June 10 to note that the defendant’s tests came back negative for drugs and alcohol and that his DWI charge will be dismissed. A Salem County grand jury has indicted a Texas tractor-trailer driver who struck and killed two people on a New Jersey highway last year. Eduardo E. Two people are dead after a fiery crash took place late Wednesday night in southeast Travis County. It happened on Toll Way 130 near Elroy Road just before midnight. The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the crash. The department said that a 2010 Ford F-150 was traveling southbound in the right lane of the road and another vehicle, a 2009 Ford-E350 was legally stopped on the right shoulder of the road when the Ford F-150 traveled onto the shoulder and hit the other vehicle.

(AP) — Delaware officials issued a shelter-in-place directive Tuesday afternoon for people within a half-mile radius of the scene of a crash on Interstate 95 near Wilmington involving hazardous material. State environmental officials issued the directive following an early morning crash involving a trailer load of organic peroxide, which officials said is considered a hazardous material.The crash occurred near the junction of I-95 and Airport Road when a pickup truck pulling the trailer hit a disabled vehicle on the roadway, officials said.

More crashes in the area after the initial crash caused serious injuries to several people.According to State Patrol, two people from Minnesota struck an elk around 12:53 a.m., and pulled over to the left shoulder of the road near Happy Canyon Road. A good samaritan came to help, and all three people were outside their vehicles.

One person died in a highway accident early Saturday in Hamilton, the New Jersey State Police said. A Hyundai Santa Fe driving south on I-295 hit the back of a “disabled” tractor-trailer, according to Sgt. Lawrence Peele. The driver died around 4:45 a.m. near mile marker 58, Peele wrote in an email. GRAMERCY, La. (AP) — Two men are dead following a car accident on the shoulder of a Louisiana interstate. James Breaux, 50, of Donaldsonville, and Daniel Thomas, 33, of Opelousas, were killed as a result of Thursday’s crash, WBRZ-TV reported. The accident happened on I-10 in St. James Parish around 3 p.m. when Breaux and Thomas were stopped on the shoulder of I-10 west in a 2003 Ford Explorer. As they were outside of the vehicle changing a tire, someone in a 2019 Penske truck swerved off the roadway, striking Breaux and Thomas.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened early Tuesday morning on Dam Neck Road. Dispatch said they received the call around 3 a.m. for a multi-vehicle accident in the 2500 block of Dam Neck Road. The preliminary investigation showed a Nissan pickup was heading east on Dam Neck when it became disabled. The driver got out to work on the vehicle when a GMC SUV struck the rear of the truck.
