Good Samaritan Struck, Killed While Helping Others On I-84 in Southington: Police
An Oakville man was hit by a car while trying to help other people after a crash on Interstate 84 in Southington and has died, according to state police. Andy Azab, 62, of Oakville, was on Interstate 84 West, near the exit 28 on-ramp around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, where he was helping people in a vehicle that was stopped on the left side of the highway after a prior crash when he was hit by a Nissan Altima, state police said.

MILAM COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - The Texas Department of Public Safety says a woman was killed Tuesday morning while she was trying to help jump-start a disabled car on the side of Highway 79. According to authorities, the car was parked on the shoulder. Stephanie Louisa Torres-Herrera, 29, of Taylor, was part of a group that stopped to help. Troopers say she was looking for supplies in the trunk of the broken-down vehicle when a semi-truck drifted onto the shoulder and hit Torres-Herrera.

The grieving family of a Good Samaritan teen who was tragically killed say they aren’t surprised he spent his final moments trying to help others. A close-knit community in central-west NSW has been rocked by the death of John Keegan, 15 after he was hit by a truck on Friday night near a dangerous intersection. The year 10 student had been a passenger in his friend’s Toyota ute when it rear-ended a BMW waiting to turn right off the Mitchell Highway near Orange in what was described as a ‘minor crash’.

A Ferndale man who stopped to help a disabled driver along Kendall Road was hospitalized early Sunday after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver, according to the Washington State Patrol. Anton G. Vasilchenko, 21, was transported to St. Joseph hospital in Bellingham with injuries he suffered in the incident, according to the State Patrol report. Vasilchenko had stopped to assist a disabled vehicle at approximately 1:07 a.m. July 4 southbound on State Route 547 near milepost 1 in Kendall, according to the report, when he was struck by an unknown car that fled the scene.

Durban: Three people were killed and several people injured in horror accidents on KZN roads this weekend. In an accident on Saturday evening, one person was killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles on the N2 in the vicinity of Zinkwazi. Paul Herbst, of IPSS Medical Rescue, said paramedics were met with “chaos on scene”. “Reports from scene indicate that a vehicle had allegedly broken down and was being pushed to safety, when it was rear-ended.

MIDLAND, Texas (Nexstar)- A Lubbock man is dead following a deadly accident Sunday. Around 10:00 p.m. on July 4, Midland Police and the Midland Fire Department responded to the 11000 block of State Highway 191 about a crash. At the scene, police found Michael Martin, 25, of Lubbock, lying in the eastbound lanes. Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. The MPD Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to investigate the accident.

The crash was reported at 6:35 am, on the 4th of July on the southbound I-15 near D Street in Victorville. California Highway Patrol officers responded and located a silver 2012 Chrysler 200 Touring wedged underneath the back of a tractor-trailer.According to CHP logs, the driver of the sedan was transported by ambulance to Loma Linda University Medical Center for a blood draw.

Ontario Provincial Police say a 26-year-old Markham man is dead after a crash on Highway 401 in Toronto early Saturday. A police spokesperson said the collision happened just before 3 a.m. in the westbound express lanes at Avenue Road. The spokesperson said the crash involved a transport truck that was broken down on the right shoulder. While the truck was waiting for repairs, another vehicle entered the shoulder and smashed into the back of the truck, the spokesperson said.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Two truck drivers who stopped to help at the scene of a crash along southbound Interstate 81 in Berkeley County were struck and killed by an SUV Thursday morning, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office. Adam T. Miller, 53, of Hagerstown, and Ashish P. Patel, 46, of Ontario, Canada, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said in a news release. In an email accompanying the release, Sheriff Nathan Harmon said the situation was one of the worst he had seen in his career.
