Man suffers minor injuries after his parked car is hit on Ogle County highway
OGLE COUNTY (WREX) — One driver is hurt while another is charged in a two car crash in Ogle County. Authorities say it happened Wednesday night on Illinois 251 at Bethel Road in Ogle County around 10 p.m. Illinois State Police say a Nissan Altima was pulled over on the side of the road with a flat tire when a Ford Focus hit the vehicle. The driver of the Nissan Altima was taken to the hospital with what police say are non-life threatening injuries.

PLAINVILLE, Kan. (AP) — A 16-year-old girl was killed this week when a pickup truck crashed into another vehicle that was broken down on the side of the road in northwestern Kansas, officials said. The crash happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday on state Highway 18 a few miles west of Plainville, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported. A westbound truck driven by a 20-year-old Stockton man crashed into the disabled sport utility vehicle, causing the truck to overturn, the patrol said.

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — One person is dead after a fatal crash on I-95 near the Sliding Hill Road exit. Virginia State Police responded to the scene just before midnight and their early investigation indicates that a gray Honda Accord was heading north when it ran off the road to the left and struck the jersey wall. The car then came to a stop on the left shoulder and the driver exited to the vehicle through the sunroof and entered the lanes of travel.

ST. CHARLES COUNTY — A motorist who stopped his car on Highway 364 after hitting a deer was killed Tuesday night when a pickup truck slammed into the back of his car, authorities said. The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the man who died as Ronald M. Walker, 51, of the St. Louis area. Walker was a boys’ basketball and baseball coach at Metro Academic and Classical High School in St. Louis, the school said.

CHARLOTTE, NC — An investigation is underway in east Charlotte after a 69-year-old man was killed and two others left injured after a sedan crashed into a disabled minivan Saturday evening, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Monday. The collision involving a 1997 Dodge Caravan and a 2006 Mercedes-Benz S500 occurred around 9 p.m. April 24 near the 1000 block of Eastway Drive, near East Sugar Creek Road. Officers responded to the scene and located three injured pedestrians struck in the collision.

CHARLOTTE — Police are investigating after a man whose van had broken down ended up being hit and killed by a car Saturday night in east Charlotte. According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers were called around 9 p.m. to the collision at the intersection of Eastway Drive and East Sugar Creek Road. When they got to the scene, police found three people who had been hit by a car.According to investigators, a Dodge Caravan driven by 69-year-old Adrian Perez had become disabled in the roadway.

According to Corpus Christi Police they received a call just after 7:00 p.m. that a woman traveling along the highway stopped and got out of the vehicle. Police say the woman was hit by a black car and the driver did not stop to render aid. Police tell 3News that they are looking for that vehicle possible with front end damage.

A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle early Saturday while standing outside her disabled car on the Long Island Expressway, police say. Police say the incident happened near exit 66 in Yaphank when the woman’s car broke down in the right lane around 3 a.m. The victim was hit by an oncoming driver. Her name has not been released. PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — A woman who entered the roadway to offer help following a crash was hit and killed by an oncoming car, deputies say. It happened just after 10 p.m. Friday on Park Street and 62nd Avenue N., according to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office news release. A man riding a scooter hit a boat trailer that had passed him, the sheriff’s office said. The driver towing the boat stopped to help, as well as other witnesses, including 62-year-old Michelle Lessl.
