Marlborough man struck and killed by tractor-trailer after exiting car on Massachusetts Turnpike

A 57-year-old Marlborough man has died Saturday after exiting his car on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Framingham and subsequently being struck by a tractor-trailer, according to Massachusetts State Police. The man, whose name was not immediately released pending next of kin notification, was driving on the Pike heading east near the 116.2 mile marker just before 6 a.m. when his 2007 Nissan Murano became disabled in the right lane for unknown mechanical problems, state police said in a statement.

Woman killed when she tries to cross I-95 lanes after getting a flat tire

POMPANO BEACH — A woman was killed when she tried to walk across Interstate 95 in the darkness, authorities said. Her car had gotten a flat tire, so she pulled onto the right shoulder of the highway and tried to cross the northbound lanes near Copans Road on foot about 4 a.m., according to a preliminary crash report.She was walking west across the first two outside lanes when she was hit by a pickup truck driven by a 37-year-old man who lives in Fort Lauderdale.

At least six people have died and dozens more were injured in a massive pileup involving at least 133 vehicles on the North Texas Express toll lanes in Fort Worth early Thursday morning that occurred after overnight sleet made for treacherous driving conditions. All southbound lanes of Interstate 35W north of downtown, including the interior toll lanes where the crashes took place, remained closed through the day and overnight as dozens of firefighters and other first responders continued to work in bitterly cold temperatures to clear the damaged vehicles from the highway.

Hit-and-run driver sought in deadly, fiery crash on I-65

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro police said they’re looking for a hit-and-run driver in connection with Thursday morning’s deadly, fiery crash on Interstate 65. The three-vehicle crash happened around 6 a.m. in northbound lanes near Old Hickory Boulevard in Madison. Police said the driver of a Toyota Camry told them he was struck by the driver of a full-size white pickup truck, which left his car disabled in the middle of the interstate.

THP: 2 injured after tractor-trailer overturns in Greene Co. crash Monday

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Two people were injured Monday after a tractor-trailer sideswiped two other vehicles on the shoulder of Interstate 81 South then overturned. According to a crash report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer and Ford F-450 truck were on the shoulder of I-81 South near Exit 23 around 4 a.m. The Ford was a service truck conducting a roadside repair on the tractor-trailer. THP reports a second tractor-trailer headed south “failed to maintain the proper lane and ran onto the shoulder of the roadway.

One woman was killed and another seriously injured Wednesday when their stalled car was struck by a pickup truck while they were standing outside the vehicle on the shoulder of an Oakland freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.Officers said they did not know why the car was stalled or why the pickup truck collided with it. The impact caused the struck car to slam into the women, who were not identified.

CHP responded to a crash involving a Hyundai sedan and a semi-truck on Highway 99 at Manning Ave. around 12:20 a.m. The driver of the Hyundai had major injuries from the crash and the car was disabled and blocking the number one lane of the highway.

Another person was also killed in a separate wreck on I-285 near Lawrenceville Highway. DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County Police said four people died in a multi-vehicle wreck early Monday morning. It happened at around 1 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 285 near Moreland Avenue. Police said there were at least four vehicles involved. The victims, who range in age from “late teens” to “late 40s,” were outside their vehicles and were struck, police said.

Good Samaritans struck on I-70

Two men were struck by a car after they had stopped to render aid to a driver who had crashed just a few moments earlier on Interstate 70’s Belle Vernon-Speers Bridge Saturday morning, according to state police. The first crash, according to Trooper Robert Broadwater, occurred about 6:40 a.m., when the driver of a minivan struck the barrier in the right eastbound lane at the beginning of the bridge. Broadwater said police are not sure what caused the crash, but the vehicle became disabled in the left lane.

Marietta Man Charged With Homicide After Six-Car Crash On I-285

COBB COUNTY, GA — A Marietta man crashed his car into a concrete barrier on I-285 near Powers Ferry Road early Sunday, Cobb police said. He’s now been charged with vehicular homicide in addition to other crimes. Around 2:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 23-year-old Rony Perez-Lucas of Marietta was driving a maroon 2002 Toyota Tundra eastbound on the interstate, east of Powers Ferry Road and approaching the Fulton County line, according to the Cobb County Police Department.
