Ismael Escamilla Injured in Rear-End Crash with 18-Wheeler on Loop 20 in Laredo, TX
Laredo, TX – May 22, 2021, 20-year-old Ismael Escamilla was injured when his pickup truck rear-ended a disabled 18-wheeler on Loop 20 in Laredo. Authorities say the incident happened around 5:25 p.m. near the intersection of Bob Bullock Loop and Interstate 35. Preliminary investigation suggests a commercial tractor-trailer was stopped on the left shoulder of the road due to reported tire problems. The driver told investigators he was about to place orange hazard indicators behind the truck when it was hit from behind by Escamilla’s pickup.

A man and a woman were killed when they were struck by cars in East Hartford Monday night, police said. It happened on Roberts Street, near Olde Roberts and Forbes streets, about 9:10 p.m., Lt. Steven Camp said. According to a preliminary investigation, it appears the man got out of a car that was stopped in the road and was struck. When the woman got out of the car and went to help him, she was hit by a different car, Camp said.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Garris, 18, was hit at about 3:17 a.m. by a 2017 Dodge RAM pickup truck driven by 52-year-old Robert Alton Haywood.

UPDATE: Alabama State Troopers say the woman had stopped on the interstate to give aid to a person involved in a previous one-car crash when she was hit by a car and killed. ORIGINAL STORY Alabama State Troopers say a woman was killed in a crash on Interstate 85 in Macon County early this morning. Investigators say 28-year-old Joni Hubbard of Lanett was killed when a car driven by 28-year-old Jamie Kelley of Banks hit another car that was disabled on the interstate from a previous crash.

CHERRYHILL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) – A man was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Indiana County. State police say it happened Thursday afternoon on Route 286 in Cherryhill Township. According to police, the driver of a Chevy Silverado came up on a disabled box truck and swerved to avoid rear-ending it. When he swerved, he crossed the center line and hit another vehicle nearly head-on. Police say a Dodge Avenger behind the crash hit the Silverado as it spun on the roadway.

Emergency responders arrived about 6 a.m. Thursday at the scene of a rollover collision on northbound Interstate 5 south of Highway 516, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The collision near Kent-Des Moines Road closed two right lanes on the northbound side of the freeway, with traffic initially backed up for about 5 miles, WSDOT said.Just after 7:40 a.m., WSDOT reported that backups from the crash extended to the King-Pierce county line, with additional snarls caused by cars attempting to leave Highway 516.

SOUTH KING COUNTY, Wash. - A woman was severely injured when her car was hit by a box truck along Interstate 5 in South King County during the Thursday morning commute, creating a huge traffic backup, the Washington State Patrol reports. Troopers and firefighters responded to the scene, just south of State Route 516 interchage, at about 6 a.m. after receiving reports of a serious collision. The mangled remains of a wrecked car and a damaged box truck were found at the scene.

An elderly Milwaukee man was killed when his pickup truck slammed into the rear-end of a disabled semi along Westbound I-94 in Paw Paw Township last night, and police are trying to determine why he veered from the roadway to shoulder where the commercial trucker was inspecting a possible mechanical issue with his rig. Michigan State Police from the Paw Paw Post tell us that last evening, Tuesday, May 18th, troopers responded to a crash involving a semi tractor-trailer around 9:55 pm on Westbound I-94 near mile marker #56 in Paw Paw Township.

LIBERTY COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - The Florida Highway Patrol says a driver crashed into a parked semi with a 7-month-old in the car early Tuesday morning. The crash happened in Liberty County, on State Road 65 near the Georgia Pacific Plant. The driver, a 22-year-old man, dozed off at the wheel as he was driving southbound on SR 65. The car drifted off the road and into the semi, which was parked off the roadway on the northbound shoulder across from the plant.

A South Jersey motorist died of his injuries over the weekend after his vehicle veered off Interstate 295 and struck a stopped SUV, authorities said. Curtis Lockwood, 66, of Swedesboro, was driving southbound near milepost 8.2 in Oldmans Township in Salem County just before 2 p.m. Saturday when his SUV left the roadway and hit a vehicle parked on the right shoulder because of a mechanical issue, according to a New Jersey State Police spokesman.
