York County man dies in crash along Route 30 West in Lancaster County
LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A 31-year-old York County man died of injuries sustained in a crash Sunday night on Route 30 West in Lancaster County, according to East Hempfield Township Police. Albert Meier Acosta, of Windsor, was traveling west on the roadway near Rohrerstown Road at about 9:26 p.m. when his Mini Cooper struck a disabled Chrysler 300, which was parked along the shoulder of the highway, according to police.The impact caused the Chrysler to catch fire, police say.

CARMEL, Calif. (KION) A woman is dead after her stopped car was hit by on-coming traffic Friday night. The California Highway Patrol says that Northridge residents Stacey Paz and Milton Pineda-Vaceres were involved in a non-injury accident on Carmel Valley Road at Rio Road around 9:30 p.m. The non-injury accident prompted Paz and Pineda-Vaceres to get out of the car.The pair was standing in the roadway when a car traveling eastbound along Carmel Valley Road (under what the CHP describes as “cold, cloudy and wet” conditions) struck the stopped car from behind and pushed it forward into Paz and Pineda-Vaceres.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – A Louisville woman was killed, and her brother was critically injured in a crash early Saturday morning in Nashville, Tennessee, according to police. The crash occurred around 2 a.m. at the Demonbreun Street exit on Interstate 40 west, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in a news release Saturday. Authorities identified the woman as Jazmin Swain, 28. Her brother, 21-year-old Tristian Swain, is at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition as a result of the crash, according to police.

The 64-year-old’s inquest heard how a lorry collided with her vehicle, which then struck Ms Hangonyiova and a man.

A man was killed Thursday evening in a crash on Interstate 59/20 in western Birmingham. The victim, an adult white male, has not yet been identified, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s office. The crash happened at 4:48 p.m. on I-59/20 between Arkadelphia Road and Bush Boulevard. Authorities said the victim was a passenger in a Ford Explorer that was traveling southbound when the SUV struck the back of an 18-wheeler parked on the roadway’s shoulder.

A 55-year-old Franklin man died Thursday afternoon in an I-70 crash in which his car ended up under a semi, Indiana State Police say. Randall Wilson was found entrapped and unconscious in his Hyundai — wedged underneath the back of a semi — around 5:30 p.m. on the westbound side of the interstate near Harding Street. Emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was taken to a hospital with what police described as minor injuries.

FIFE, Wash. — Two men were seriously hurt when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver as they stood on the shoulder of I-5 after a crash near Fife. On May 8 around 4 a.m., a gray 2010 Lexus sedan hit a guardrail on southbound I-5 at 54th Avenue East near mile marker 137 in Pierce County. After the Lexus came to a stop in the right lane, the driver and passenger got out and stood on the right shoulder near the guardrail.

An Athens woman was killed Tuesday morning after she exited a car that had stopped on the Athens Perimeter and was hit by a passing vehicle, according to Athens-Clarke police. The fatal collision was reported at 11:49 a.m. on a northbound stretch of the bypass between the Lexington Road and Olympic Road exits, police Lt. Shaun Barnett said. Police said Angelica Johnson, 32, of Athens died from injuries suffered after being struck by the vehicle.

A woman was arrested for vehicular homicide Monday morning after hitting and killing a person changing a tire on Interstate 5 in Tacoma. According to the Washington State Patrol, a person was changing a tire on the right shoulder in the northbound collector-distributor lanes at S. 28th Street when they were hit by a car. The person died at the scene. The woman who hit him later admitted that she was distracted by her cell phone when the crash happened.
