Two killed in two-vehicle accident south of Sarita

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Two are dead after an accident late Tuesday that occurred about 17 miles south of Sarita in Kenedy County on U.S. Highway 77. DPS spokesman Sgt. Nathan Brandley said the accident occurred at about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday. Preliminary investigation reveals that a truck tractor with one occupant was traveling south on US 77. A Chevrolet Tahoe with a driver and passenger was towing a utility trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the road after running out of gas.

UPDATE: I-94 westbound lanes reopen near Johnson Creek following crash that killed 3

UPDATE (WKOW) — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says that I-94 westbound lanes have reopened between Johnson Creek and Lake Mills. The lanes have been closed since around 4 a.m. Wednesday due to a fatal crash. Police said three people died in the multi-vehicle crash. The victim’s names are being withheld at this time while officials notify family. UPDATE (WKOW) – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said multiple people died in a crash on I-94 near Johnson Creek early Wednesday morning.

All lanes open following crash with injuries on I-95 near CR-210 Tuesday morning

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — All lanes of I-95 near CR-210 are now open after a crash involving serious injuries Tuesday morning. Florida Highway Patrol says four people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Four vehicles were involved. Their preliminary information shows a vehicle was disabled or had crashed going south on I-95 and a Good Samaritan stopped to help. That person was then hit by a second crash.That second crash may have been drivers taking evasive action or colliding into each other.

Fiery Orange County wreck claims life of driver along Interstate 10 Monday night

ORANGE, Texas — Investigators are working to identify a driver who was killed Monday night in a fiery wreck along Interstate 10 in Orange County. A 2016 Peterbilt commercial truck was disabled on the right shoulder of the interstate about a half-mile from the Womack Road exit when it was struck by a car according to ta news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.The 2016 Hyundai Sonata that struck the rear truck was also traveling westbound and then crossed across lanes of traffic, struck the concrete median barrier and burst into flames the release said.

Mississippi man dies after being hit by vehicle in Shelby County

According to the sheriff, 68-year-old David W. Young was out of his semi and then ran across the road, into the path of an approaching vehicle. SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. — A 68-year-old man from Mississippi died Tuesday morning after being hit by a vehicle in Shelby County. Officers with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department were called to the intersection of South Smithland Road and South 425 West around 12:40 a.m. on a report of a person struck.

A 25-year-old man died when a car struck his vehicle while stopped in the shoulder of Route 55, authorities said. Joshua Beardsworth, of Pittsgrove Township, was stopped in his BMW on the right shoulder of the highway when a car – also on the northbound side – struck him in Vineland around 7:40 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said. The 27-year-old driver from Lansdale, PA – Trevor Annunziata, who was driving a Volkswagon – was hospitalized with serious injuries, while Beardsworth was killed.

CASPER, Wyo. — A person who had exited a passenger vehicle following a vehicle crash on I-80 was struck and killed by a truck trailer during a subsequent crash event. According to preliminary information published by the Wyoming Department of Transportation, 45-year-old Colorado resident Whasfia Darwich Watchman was identified as the deceased in the incident. Man, woman decapitated after slamming into parked semi-truck, California officials say

Two people were decapitated after crashing into a semi-truck on the side of a freeway on Sunday, according to California authorities. A man was driving with a woman in the passenger seat in Sylmar on the 5 Freeway (Interstate 5) and collided with a parked semi-truck, said California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball, KTLA reported. Both people were decapitated and their names haven’t been released, according to the station.The semi-truck was parked on the side of the freeway and was rear-ended by the man driving a 2010 Lexus sedan “that failed to maintain the curve in the road just prior to the crash,” City News Service reported, citing a CHP statement.

Miami woman killed on Florida’s Turnpike crash near Palm City early Sunday

MARTIN COUNTY — A 33-year-old Miami woman was killed early Sunday morning on Florida’s Turnpike when she was struck while sitting in her disabled vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The fatal wreck happened about 2:15 a.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes of mile marker 137, just south of the St. Lucie County line, FHP said. The woman had been in a separate crash earlier and had been sitting in her sedan in the left-hand lane of the turnpike, FHP said.

Woman who fell asleep at wheel struck and killed by semi on I-75 in Sumter County

A 23-year-old woman who fell asleep at the wheel was killed when she was struck by a semi tractor trailer as she stood near her wrecked vehicle late Saturday night on Interstate 75 in Sumter County. The Spring Hill woman had been southbound on I-75 near Mile Marker 324 when she fell asleep at five minutes before midnight and her Toyota Camry drifted onto the grass shoulder, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
