Injuries Reported in 18-Wheeler Collision on Interstate 69 in Allen County, IN
Allen County, IN – September 2, 2021, injuries were reported when a tractor-trailer sideswiped a disabled semi-truck on Interstate 69 in Allen County. Authorities say the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. on the interstate near the Bluffton Road interchange. Preliminary investigation suggests an eastbound 18-wheeler collided with a broken-down truck on the shoulder of the roadway. The impact ripped the disabled truck’s trailer open and heavily damaged its tractor. The other semi-truck left the roadway and overturned in a nearby field.

Authorities say the incident happened around 3:35 p.m. on I-76E near the exit to Lakeshore Boulevard. Preliminary investigation suggests a Ford box truck stalled out on the center travel lane of the interstate. The driver exited the truck and placed triangle reflectors behind the truck to warn approaching traffic, then went to the shoulder of the road.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — One person has died after a crash on I-40 in Greensboro Monday night. Officials said eastbound lanes of I-40 at Sandy Ridge Road were closed just before 9 p.m. Monday because of a vehicle crash. They reopened Tuesday morning around 2:30 a.m. Greensboro police said one person was killed. According to police, a 2010 Acura TSX was being driven eastbound on Interstate 40 when it left the roadway, hit guardrail, and over turned.

Arlington Police said it happened shortly before 11:00 p.m. in the 3500 block of East I-30. The first car was traveling westbound on I-30 when it became disabled due to engine trouble. The car remained in the inside lane of traffic due to construction in the area with no shoulder available.

On September 6, 2021, at approximately 5:13 a.m., a 2017 Toyota Camry operated by a 27-year-old male from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was traveling northbound on JFK Memorial Highway (I-95) in the left thru lane north of the Christiana Road (DE-273) overpass. As the vehicle entered a slight curve in the roadway, it drifted onto the left shoulder and sideswiped the concrete barrier in the center of the roadway.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man was killed early Monday after being struck by multiple vehicles on eastbound Interstate 440 near Six Forks Road in Raleigh. Raleigh police were dispatched at 1:39 a.m. and discovered the injured man, later identified as 27-year-old Cameron Scott Morrison, who they said was a stranded driver. When he got out of his car, which had broken down, he was hit several times. It was unclear Monday whether the drivers who hit Morrison stopped afterward.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A longtime DeKalb County EMT who was off duty was hit and killed early Saturday morning when he stopped to help victims of a car accident.Logan Wade and his partner, who both worked for American Medical Response, were driving a non-emergency vehicle from Georgia to Louisiana to help victims of Hurricane Ida when they stopped to help at the scene of a car wreck.When they came upon the accident, they immediately pulled over to help until other emergency vehicles could get there.

A 79-year-old man from Tampa died early Saturday morning after stopping to help a broken-down van on southbound Interstate 275, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A van traveling I-275 in Tampa broke down in the center lane north of Interstate 4 because of mechanical issues. The Tampa man stopped his moped to help, law enforcement reported. So did one other vehicle. A Tampa woman, 44, traveling on the interstate did not stop in time, and her car crashed into the moped and vehicle, pushing them into the van.

The crash and a subsequent police investigation closed eastbound Route 50 (Arlington Blvd) at the Glebe Road overpass for several hours. The victim suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive, police say. “At approximately 4:23 a.m. on September 3, police were dispatched to the area of Arlington Boulevard and South Glebe Road for the report of a crash with injury,” Arlington County Police Department spokeswoman Kirby Clark tells ARLnow.
