Man hit and killed on I-5 after getting out of car in North Seattle
SEATTLE — A 64-year-old Pullman man was killed after he got out of his car following a crash on northbound I-5 in North Seattle Sunday night. Washington State Patrol troopers said a Ford F250 pickup lost control near 130th Street in the Northgate area around 7:20 p.m. The driver stopped in the middle lane with no headlights on. A second vehicle, a Honda Civic, hit the back of the truck and then came to a stop in front of it.

A 53-year-old man from Bear died Sunday night after being hit by a car while trying to cross Interstate 95 north near Newark, Delaware State Police said. According to police, the man, who has not yet been identified, was driving a Nissan Titan on I-95 by South Chapel Street when he drifted off the highway and into the left shoulder. There, he hit a guardrail, which caused his car to rotate and stop facing south in the north lane.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – One person is dead and several more are injured after a car hit two cars that were stopped on the side of the road. A total of four cars were involved. It happened Sunday afternoon in the southbound lanes of I-75 near the Benchwood Road exit. I-75 was shut down for more than two hours. A Camaro and SUV pulled over to help another vehicle that was stopped on the side of the road.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is conducting an investigation after a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred in the 9300 block of Brookshire Boulevard. Police say on Friday, Jan, 22 at around 8:49 a.m., officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was then pronounced deceased by Medic. The victim has been identified as David Norman Mercurius. Police say Mercurius was in the right travel lane of northbound Brookshire Boulevard near the right shoulder of the roadway.

PREMONT, Texas — Two people are dead after a crash in Jim Wells County involving three vehicles, one being a semi-truck, Texas Department of Public Safety officials said. The crash happened Thursday, Jan, 21 about 6 miles south of Premont in Jim Wells County just after 10 p.m. DPS officials said a driver of a Ford utility van was traveling south on US 281 when the driver of a Chevy Silverado, traveling north, veered into the Ford van’s lane and crashed into it head-on.

Two men, ages 46 and 34-years-old, were killed in a crash on I-71 south at the I-480/237 split Thursday morning, according to a spokesperson for the Cleveland Division of Police. The crash happened around 12:09 a.m. involving a tractor-trailer and a car.Police said a 67-year-old was operating a tractor-trailer when the left front tire went flat. The trailer pulled off onto the left berm and was stopped partially in the left lane of I-71.

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WJW) — An emotional plea from the wife of a North Olmsted man who was struck by a hit-and-run driver.Susan Babiasz of North Olmsted says it’s a miracle that her 70-year-old husband, Rich Ruscin, is alive. “He called me and I said ‘how you doing babe. Boy, I’m hurt really bad Suzie.’ I can only imagine a car hitting you going 50 miles per hour in a 20 hour zone,” said Babiasz.

LANHAM, MD — Police said a man crashed into a semi-truck in Prince George’s County on Jan. 12. Medics pronounced him dead on the scene, an incident reported added. Officers identified the victim as Carlos Chavez of Clinton. He was 47. The write-up noted that the accident happened around 11 p.m. in Lanham. Chavez was driving a black 2005 Ford E-350 east on U.S. Route 50 when his car left the travel portion of the roadway, troopers indicated.

CHICAGO - A 35-year-old Chicago man was struck and killed by a passing car as he changed a tire Monday evening on the Kennedy Expressway. He was outside his car near Sacramento Avenue about 10 p.m. when he was struck by two teenage girls in a southbound BMW, according to a statement from Illinois State Police. The man was pronounced dead, while the two girls were taken to hospitals with injuries, state police said.

A motorist who stopped to help a stranded driver was struck by another vehicle early Sunday on Lake Shore Drive near North Avenue. He pulled over to help a motorist involved in a crash about 12:45 a.m. and walked up the vehicle, but noticed it was unoccupied, Chicago police said. That’s when a southbound vehicle saw the man in the road and tried to stop, but then slammed into the back of the man’s car, police said.
