Crash on I-435 in Kansas City leaves Independence man dead after suspect fled scene
A metro man was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Wednesday in Kansas City, authorities said. Just before 4:30 a.m., officers were called to a two car crash just north of where Interstate 435 crosses Eastwood Trafficway, according to a news release from the Kansas City Police Department. Police said a Toyota RAV4 was stopped on the right shoulder of the highway when a Chevrolet Traverse headed southbound rear-ended the parked Toyota.

A person described by Louisiana State Police as an unidentified Hispanic male is dead following a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday. According to a press release from LSP spokesman Trooper Thomas Gossen, the crash happened on I-10 Westbound near Butte La Rose in St. Martin Parish after the now-dead driver got out of his Mercedes-Benz sedan after his vehicle was struck from behind by a Honda Pilot SUV being driven by Jose Gonzalez of Houston, Texas.

UPDATE (06/30) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released a report on the crash involving a deceased Jonesborough man who had been reported missing. The body of Nicholas Todd was discovered by hikers Monday in a crashed vehicle in Unicoi County. Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley said the vehicle was found in a creek on Spivey Mountain several hundred yards down an embankment. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Tuesday that the body had been positively identified as Todd.

A 23-year-old passenger was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 1 in West Windsor early Saturday that injured four others, authorities said. A Volkswagen Passat was traveling south and veered off the road just before Carnegie Center Boulevard, hit a utility pole, a road sign, and then another utility pole before spinning back onto the roadway, disabled in the center lane, with its passenger side exposed to oncoming traffic, West Windsor police said.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were on their way to help a driver with a broken down vehicle on State Road 56. Officials said they then received another call about a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. The incident happened just east of County Road 400 East in Dubois.

The Ontario Provincial Police say the eastbound express lanes on Highway 401 at Whites Roads in Pickering have reopened after a two-car collision claimed the life of a 73-year-old man. OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said the crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. Friday when a vehicle stalled on the right shoulder was rear-ended by another vehicle. The man, a Vaughan resident, in the stopped vehicle suffered critical injuries and was treated at the scene.

Alcohol and distracted driving are being investigated as factors in a crash that killed a motorist Friday morning, June 25, on Hwy. 401 in Pickering, according to police. In an update on the collision Friday afternoon, OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt said an investigation continues, and police are appealing for witnesses. Express lanes on Hwy. 401, closed throughout the day, have now been re-opened, Schmidt said. Update: The driver that struck the disabled vehicle on the shoulder of #Hwy401 was a 17 year old from Toronto.

According to police, they were called to the scene of a crash on June 25, 2021, around 9:00 p.m. Police tell us the crash claimed the life of Maximillian Hermann Reppel, Jr., 75, of Violet. Police tell us their initial investigation shows that a 1999 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Reppel, was headed south on I-49, when he left the road and rear-ended a commercial vehicle parked on the southbound shoulder.
