Troopers search for driver who fled after fatal hit-and-run in Orange County
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 55-year-old man died Friday after what authorities say was a fatal hit and run. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened near Hiawassee Road and Coral Cove Road just after 11:30 p.m. Troopers said a Ford Fusion was driving south on Hiawassee Road while the man was attempting to cross. The Sedan struck the man, leaving him in the southbound lanes, troopers said.

FREMONT, Calif. (KRON) — On Sunday, a family in the East Bay is mourning the loss of a man who was killed while trying to help others. 39-year-old Guadalupe Romero was tragically struck by a driver while helping victims of another accident on I-880 early Saturday morning. CHP says at least six others were injured in this multi-car crash.A makeshift memorial filled with burning candles and flowers honors the life of Guadalupe Romero, the Fremont man is credited with trying to save someone’s life in a horrific crash just moments before losing his own.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A vehicle crash has closed parts of I-64 in Cabell County, according to West Virginia 511. Cabell County 911 dispatchers say the call came in 9:02 am Sunday for a single vehicle crash. Dispatchers say a vehicle hit a guard rail when, shortly after, a second vehicle hit the first car involved in the crash while it was stopped.No injuries have been reported at this time.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY — A 55-year-old woman was struck and killed Saturday evening after she got out of a vehicle on the side of Interstate 64 westbound near the exit for Route 159, Illinois State Police said. Rena Wood, 55, from Hartsville, Tennessee was pronounced dead on the scene. A 49-year-old Collinsville woman with one passenger was driving west just as Wood got out of a car on the shoulder of the highway near milepost 11.

Officials said 43-year-old Maria Rita Rubio died of her injuries at the scene. The other woman was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries. A woman was killed and another woman was injured after a driver struck them while they stood outside their disabled truck on the interstate, authorities said. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Friday on Interstate 20 between Green Oaks Boulevard and Kelly Elliott Road. The woman who died was identified as 43-year-old Maria Rita Rubio, according to the medical examiner.

A man is in hospital in critical condition after two tractor-trailers collided on Highway 401 overnight. The crash happened just after 1 a.m. Tuesday on the eastbound express lanes approaching Allen Road. Police said one of trucks was parked on the right shoulder when it was struck by the other truck. The second truck then hit the barrier and struck a bridge post. The driver of the second truck suffered life-threatening injuries.
