Woman killed in Route 2 accident in Glastonbury
A woman from Colchester died Monday in an accident on Route 2 in Glastonbury after her car was struck while parked in the shoulder, state police said. State police have identified the woman as Marie Mathieu, 58 According to a report on the accident, Mathieu was parked on the shoulder of the highway, at the top of the Exit 9 on ramp, when her car was struck from behind by another vehicle driving in the right lane.

FRANKFORD, Del. — Delaware State Police say they are currently investigating a fatal crash involving multiple vehicles in Frankford. Police say the crash happened early Monday morning at the intersection of DuPont Boulevard and Lazy Lagoon Road. We’re told just before 6:45 A.M., a 2018 Subaru CrossTrek, driven by a 68-year-old woman of Frankford, was traveling westbound on Lazy Lagoon Road approaching the intersection of DuPont Boulevard. For unknown reasons, the Subaru reportedly attempted to cross through the intersection while an unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on DuPont Boulevard passing by.

A female pedestrian was killed in a crash Monday evening on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset County, state police said.She was hit and killed by a vehicle just before the Somerset exit at 6 p.m., troopers said. That vehicle fled the scene eastbound. State police did not identify the woman in a news release. They said she was between 30 to 40 years old. She was in a vehicle that stopped on the left lane shoulder at mile marker 109.

Two people were hit by a car while they were changing a flat tire in Wallingford on Saturday night and police said the vehicle left the scene after the collision. Officers received several 911 calls about an evading crash involving two pedestrians around 5:10 p.m. According to police, a man and a woman were changing a flat tire in the road on Cook Hill Road when a vehicle traveling westbound hit them.

(KSEE/KGPE) — A pedestrian walking on the lanes of Highway 41 in north Fresno was struck and killed Saturday night and led to a good Samaritan being struck and hospitalized after stopping to help, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers at 10:56 p.m. received a report of a crash involving a pedestrian on the 41 Freeway at the Friant Road off-ramp, said Sgt. John Tyler. Emergency crews found a pedestrian that had been struck by two vehicles on the northbound lanes of the freeway.

BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY) A 20-year-old St. Martinville man who stopped to help the driver of a disabled vehicle died at the scene of the crash after he was thrown over a concrete barrier. According to police, it happened just after midnight Friday when 20-year-old Robin Theriot witnessed another vehicle become disabled after hitting a concrete barrier in the construction zone on I-10 westbound in Breaux Bridge. Before Theriot could help the driver, he was struck by an oncoming vehicle and thrown over the center concrete wall and onto the eastbound lane, Breaux Bridge police said.

An Escambia County man was struck and killed while standing behind his disabled vehicle. The Florida Highway Highway Patrol said the 37-year old man was standing behind his disabled SUV on the Highway 90 Escambia River Bridge about 9 p.m. Thursday. A 22-year old Pace man traveling westbound on Highway 90 in a pickup truck did not see the stopped SUV and hit both the SUV and the man. The man’s pickup continued into the eastbound lanes and struck another pickup truck.

Police say a pedestrian walking on the side of I-95 was hit by a car as he was trying to help others in a crash. They say the pedestrian suffered minor injuries. Reports say it happened overnight in Westport. The good Samaritan apparently also got a verbal warning from police for “reckless use of the highway by a pedestrian.”

According to Ballard County 911 Dispatch, a SEMI tractor trailer, a pick-up truck pulling a trailer and a deer were involved in a crash at approximately 9:30 p.m. The Ballard County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of the SEMI, Nicolas Bedney, 37 of Humble, Texas, was traveling eastbound and hit a deer.
