Police ID men killed in separate Christmas Eve crashes in Middletown, Christiana
Later that night, another man, 34-year-old Bear resident David West, died while stopped on Route 1 north. He had been driving on the highway, just south of the Interstate 95 overpass, when he lost control of his Honda Civic and hit a concrete barrier on the right shoulder of the road. West got out of the car following the crash and was standing in the left lane when a 54-year-old woman from Townsend, who was also driving north, hit his Civic.

A man who was ejected from his vehicle was killed early Christmas morning after being struck by two vehicles on eastbound Interstate 70 near Byers in Arapahoe County. The man was involved in a rollover crash after 12:30 a.m. near exit 314 before authorities believe he was ejected from his vehicle, said Mike Disher, chief of the Byers Fire Protection District. The crash is still under investigation.The victim, a 29-year-old man, was driving a Chevy pickup.

Owatonna, MN (KROC AM News) - Three people were hurt Friday when a pickup truck crashed into a stalled vehicle in rural Steele County. The Minnesota State Patrol says the truck was eastbound on Highway 14 when it struck the car that was parked on the shoulder. The truck was driven by 42-year-old Alan Greiner of Mankato. The two people in the car were identified as 53-year-old Anthony Brown and 49-year-old Stacey Powell, both of New Richland.

A pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit-skip incident on southbound I-75 on Christmas Eve, according to St. Bernard police. Police said at approximately 11:27 p.m. male pedestrian was struck and killed after getting out of his disabled vehicle. the incident occurred on southbound I-75 at the 6.7 mile marker. Police said the investigation is ongoing. The man has been identified but family has not been notified. Police said preliminary facts show that the man was operating a disabled vehicle in the second lane and had come to a stop.

CINCINNATI — A good Samaritan who was hit by a car while helping others is fighting hard to regain the ability to walk. Ramondo Hill, 42, was coming from his adult basketball league when he came upon a bad crash on Central Parkway Nov. 22.While he was trying to help those involved, he said another car came racing out of control and struck him. Hill has a long road ahead. His sister said her brother could have been killed.

CARY, N.C. — Traffic was backed up for miles on Interstate 40 Wednesday night as crews worked to clear a fatal crash involving several cars. I-40 near Exit 287 in Wake County, or North Harrison Avenue, closed in both directions at around 5 p.m. All lanes of the interstate reopened at around 9:30 p.m., but 2 miles of congestion remained, officials said. The accident started on I-40 West near Aviation Parkway and Reedy Creek Bridge.

GREENSBURG, Pa. (KDKA) — An 18-year-old was hit and killed by the driver of a tractor-trailer along Route 119 in Westmoreland County. Police say Brandon Peterson was hit Tuesday by the tractor-trailer, which was traveling south in the right lane. Law enforcement says Peterson’s vehicle, a Ram 2500, was disabled on the right shoulder, and he had stepped out onto the shoulder when he was hit. The driver of the tractor-trailer remained on the scene, police say.

A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday morning on Interstate 20 in Arlington in a traffic accident where a good Samaritan pulled the victim off the highway, Arlington police said. But a tractor trailer approaching the accident scene, collided with the good Samaritan’s car which then burst into flames. No injuries were reported in the secondary crash. The name of the motorcyclist had not been released as of Tuesday afternoon pending notification of relatives.

Kevin Kresen, a 58-year-old from New York, was driving along State Route 17C around midnight in Owego, New York, about an hour-and-a-half south of Syracuse, when he lost control of his Ford Fusion and went off the road.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A woman was hit and killed on Interstate 270 after her tractor-trailer broke down on the interstate Tuesday afternoon. At around noon, troopers with Missouri State Highway Patrol were called to westbound I-270 near James McDonnell Boulevard for a crash. This is in Hazelwood. MSHP said the driver of a tractor-trailer got out because her truck broke down on the interstate. She was setting cones out to alert other drivers to slow down because her truck was stalled in one lane.
