Coroner identifies woman hit, killed by vehicle on Edmund Highway near Pelion
LEXINGTON, S.C. (WIS) - The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who was fatally struck by a vehicle early yesterday morning. The accident occurred shortly after 4:30 a.m. on the 5800 block of Edmund Highway near Pelion. Official say, 47-year-old Lisa Claudine Fry was traveling on Edmund Highway when her vehicle became disabled. When she exited the vehicle she was struck by an approaching car. Fry was taken from the scene to an area hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

A 24-year-old man was badly hurt when he got out of his car and was struck by another vehicle after a seven-vehicle crash on Highway 416 Monday evening. He remained in critical condition, the OPP said Tuesday morning.Firefighters took a call about the crash at 7:25 p.m., and while on the way to the scene received information about multiple injuries. The collision occurred on northbound Highway 416 at the Rideau River bridge.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP - State police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred early Sunday morning on Route 78, said Sgt. Philip Curry, spokesperson for the State Police.The accident occurred at 4:46 a.m. on Route 78 westbound around mile marker, Curry said. A Freightliner tractor trailer was parked on the right shoulder when a Jeep heading westbound entered the right shoulder and hit the rear of the parked tractor trailer. The male driver of the Jeep sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Curry said.

GRANT COUNTY, Ky. (FOX19) - Kentucky State Police say they are investigating a fatal crash that happened Friday night. Robert Fugate, 50, was identified by KSP as having been struck and killed by a car on the interstate around 11:30 p.m. Police say Fugate had been involved in a single-vehicle crash and was standing in the left lane 156-mile marker of I-75 in Williamstown. Two other vehicles then stopped to help Fugate, police say.

PORT ALLEN - A good Samaritan was struck and killed after she pulled over to help out another person involved in a crash overnight. State police said Theresa Matherne, 57, of Baton Rouge was fatally struck after she stopped to help a driver involved in a crash on US 190 near LA 415 around 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Investigators said Matherne was walking in an eastbound lane when she was hit by multiple vehicles.

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Two people, including a Bald Knob man, died Wednesday after a truck hit them as they tried to help another driver on the side of a highway, according to Arkansas State Police. The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on I-40 near Mulberry in Franklin County. State police say 59-year-old William Burrow of Bald Knob was one of four people who had gotten out of their vehicles to help a woman who had been involved in a previous crash.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark- An England man was killed Tuesday night while trying to assist with a disabled vehicle on Interstate 30 in Little Rock. Anthony Brian King, 37, was crushed between the disabled vehicle and his own when a third vehicle rammed into the back of the disabled vehicle. The disabled vehicle was partially in the roadway at the time of impact. The driver and passenger of the vehicle that initiated the accident were both injured and taken to a local hospital.

ROLAND, Okla. — Update: All lanes at the scene of the crash have reopened. I-40 westbound lanes in eastern Oklahoma were blocked Wednesday morning following a fatal semi collision. The crash happened at mile marker 328 on I-40 near the Venture Aerodrome Airpark Number 2 in Roland, Okla. Traffic was at a standstill for miles as emergency crews directed drivers to the Dora exit nearby. Some drivers had to wait over six hours before they could move again.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — The westbound lanes of Interstate 44 in Eureka are closed after a fatal crash Tuesday morning. At around 11 a.m., there were two crashes along westbound I-44 near Route 109. The first crash involved a pick-up truck and a tractor-trailer truck. There were no injuries in that crash, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. Two women who saw the crash got out of their car to the check on the people involved.
