Woman dies after cars hit her disabled car on Hwy 99 near Kingsburg
KINGSBURG, Calif. (FOX26) — An 18-year-old woman died after she was in a single-car crash on Highway 99, leaving her car blocking traffic and was hit by other cars. CHP says the woman lost control and hit a concrete median barrier just south of Sierra St. in Kingsburg around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday. Investigators say the woman was not injured in the initial crash but her car was blocking the southbound lanes of Highway 99.

DAVIS COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 News) – One man is dead after hitting the back of a semi-truck driver stopped trying to avoid a crash ahead near Parish Lane. Officials with Utah Highway Patrol say around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday a passenger vehicle was traveling southbound in the center lane on I-15 in Centerville when they realized they needed to take the Parrish Lane off-ramp. The driver crossed the right lane into the gore area for the off-ramp striking the attenuator, UHP says.

CONCORD, N.C. — North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers say a woman has died after a car hit her on Interstate 85 in Cabarrus County late Tuesday night. Troopers said a Jeep and a UPS tractor-trailer collided but when the driver of the Jeep, identified as 22-year-old Darrionah Thompson, got out of her SUV, another car hit and killed her.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A five-vehicle crash on US-131 near Burton left three injured Monday afternoon. The crash happened at approx. 2:40pm, when a car with a flat tire stopped in the left lane going northbound on US-131 near Burton instead of exiting the freeway or pulling to the right shoulder. The driver of the vehicle with a flat, a 20-year-old Manistee man, was attempting to change the tire in the left lane when a rear-end, chain reaction crash occurred behind the stopped vehicle.

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — One person was killed and another person was seriously hurt in a multiple-vehicle wreck on Georgia 400 North near the North Springs MARTA Station early Sunday morning, police said. According to Sandy Springs Police, an unknown black vehicle caused a wreck with two other vehicles on Georgia 400 northbound. One of the vehicles involved – a 2017 Hyundai Elantra – was completely disabled on the highway. Two good Samaritan motorists stopped to help the driver of the Hyundai and his two passengers.

DUNWOODY, Ga. — An attempt to help a stalled motorist on I-285 came to a tragic conclusion when a Good Samaritan was struck while approaching the broken-down vehicle. Dunwoody Police said that they were called to I-285 west near Ashford Dunwoody Road around 2:16 p.m. to reports of a person hit by a vehicle. By the time police arrived, the victim was already dead.

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A woman is dead after having been struck by a number of vehicles on I-24 West at the Davidson/Rutherford County line, Metro police say. The preliminary investigation shows that the 22-year-old Memphis woman was driving her Nissan Versa east on I-24 prior to the incident, missing the driver’s side tire and traveling on the rim for some time. Her car then hit the guardrail on the right shoulder of I-24 East.

A 29-year-old Texas man was killed Wednesday night when he left his vehicle after a collision near Fairfield, the California Highway Patrol said. The Texas man, whose name hasn’t been released, was driving a 2019 Chrysler when he collided with a 2020 Kia Forte around 9:10 p.m. on the two-lane connector ramp from westbound Highway 12 to westbound Interstate Highway 80, CHP Officer Miguel Camarena said. At approximately 4:52 a.m., Plainfield police and members of the Moosup Fire Department and American Legion Ambulance responded to a vehicle collision in the area of 443 N. Main St. Police said 44-year-old Joseph Devolve of Sterling was traveling west in a 2004 Volvo XC70 when he struck an unoccupied truck parked on the shoulder of the westbound lane.

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A crash in Ouachita Parish has claimed the life of a man. According to Louisiana State Police, it happened May 5, 2020, shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Interstate 20 just east of Monroe. State police say a vehicle driven by 65-year-old Johnny Ray Green, of Oak Grove, was eastbound on I-20 when, for reasons still under investigation, it stopped in the outside lane of travel. Police say Green got out of the vehicle, after which he and the vehicle were hit by an 18-wheeler.
