19-year-old woman hit, killed on I-8 after walking away from car crash
The woman had crashed her Toyota into a center divider and got out of her car on the freeway EL CAJON — A 19-year-old woman who exited her car after crashing it on the freeway in El Cajon was hit and killed early Tuesday, authorities said. The driver was heading east on Interstate 8 near First Street when she lost control of her Toyota Matrix for an unknown reason and struck the center divider, which sent her car into the traffic lanes of the freeway, said California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Garrow.

Columbus, Ohio (WSYX) — Columbus Police is investigating a deadly crash on I-270 northbound between I-70 and US 33 that happened late Monday. Police said a 2006 Peterbilt tractor trailer was traveling northbound on I-270 when the driver struck the front left side of a disabled 2013 Chevrolet Impala being driven by 18-year-old Chandra Basnet. Basnet was ejected out of the open drivers side door.After hitting Basnet’s vehicle, police say the Peterbilt continued down the highway striking a second vehicle that was parked on the berm due to a prior non-injury crash with Basnet.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Two people are dead after being hit by a car while trying to cross I-26. It happened just before 4 am Saturday morning. According to the coroner’s office, Frank Bates, 64, and Bobbie Jenkins, 70, were riding in a car that broke down in the median of the highway near exit 119. The pair was walking across the westbound lanes of I-26 when they were hit.

A young Fremont man who had been missing for almost a week was found dead inside an overturned vehicle Saturday in an unincorporated area of Alameda County. The wreck was reported around 10:30 a.m. off Calaveras Road near the Sunol Regional Wilderness, north of Calaveras Reservoir, said the Dublin office of the California Highway Patrol. A bicyclist who had stopped on the shoulder near Welch Creek Road saw a gray Toyota Camry upside down about 100 feet below the roadway.

BOYNTON BEACH — A 54-year-old Fort Lauderdale man was killed Saturday afternoon after he was hit by two vehicles when he stopped his car on Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach to adjust a piece of furniture that was strapped to the roof. James Benson was taken by helicopter to Delray Medical Center after the 12:30 p.m. accident, but he died early Sunday, according to the Boynton Beach Police Department. Benson and his vehicle were struck by a white 2020 Toyota Tacoma and a silver 2005 Chevrolet Colorado.

SAN ANTONIO – A woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle on the city’s West Side overnight, according to San Antonio police. The incident happened around 10 p.m., Saturday, when officials said the woman rear-ended another vehicle on I-35 and New Braunfels. Police said the woman left the scene and drove southbound on I-35 before getting on Highway 90. She then pulled over on the shoulder of the highway at General Hudnell after her left front tire blew out.

Traffic on Interstate 90 just east of Billings was halted Saturday in both directions just before noon by a multi-vehicle pileup. The crash involved approximately 30 vehicles on the bridge crossing the Yellowstone River near mile marker 452. No fatalities have been reported, according to a social media post from Montana Highway Patrol. “I would say this is the largest pileup, and winter-time accident, that I’ve seen in my nearly 20 years with the fire department,” said Billings Fire Department Chief Jason Lyon, who served as the incident commander.

LAKESIDE, Ore. - A 77-year-old Lakeside man died Thursday when his pickup truck crashed into the rear of a broken down truck pulling double trailers on Highway 101. Oregon State Police responded to the scene at 7:15 p.m. They found that a Seattle man driving a commercial vehicle pullng double trailers had stopped for repairs on the northbound shoulder of Hwy 101. A Chevy S-10 pickup driven by Frank Martinez of Lakeside traveled onto the shoulder and hit the rear of the trailer combination, police said.

A man was struck and killed by a car as he was running back to his disabled vehicle on the Beltway in the New Carrollton area. Maryland State Police said the crash happened around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday along the outer loop of the Beltway near Route 450. An initial investigation found that a man was “running from the right shoulder across the highway to the left shoulder where his vehicle was disabled” when he was struck by a Honda Accord.

The incident happened around 4 a.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes near exit 14.According to the Franklin Fire Company, the tractor-trailer had been involved in a crash and the driver was walking around the scene. A passing vehicle then hit the driver. The victim was flown to a trauma center.
