NHP: Driver dies after hitting van, car parked in shoulder on 215 near Buffalo
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – Nevada Highway Patrol investigated a fatal crash in the southwest valley on Monday night. According to NHP’s website, the crash happened about 8:30 p.m. on August 24 on the 215 Beltway westbound at Buffalo Drive. The crash involved three vehicles, according to NHP Trooper Travis Smaka. A contractor was driving to a customer’s home when he ran out of gas and pulled over. Smaka said the customer drove in a Mercedes to bring gas to the contractor and was also pulled off to the shoulder.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman is in critical condition after a car crash on the city’s east side, San Antonio Police said. The incident took place just before 1 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 10 near Foster Road. Police said two cars were involved in a crash, but when a family member showed up to help out, someone else hit their car.

A woman was pulled from a burning car and another person was injured in a two-vehicle incident on Interstate 30 early Sunday morning, Garland police say. Officers arrived just before 2 a.m. to eastbound I-30 near the ramp to the President George Bush Turnpike, where the woman was unconscious in the driver seat of the burning black Toyota Camry. A witness told police the driver was in the second from the left lane when she lost control and hit the left side concrete barrier and a light pole then veered back onto the roadway.

EDWARDSVILLE, IL, (August 20, 2020) - Curt A. Kruckerberg was seriously injured on Thursday, August 20th when he was struck by a tractor-trailer after exiting his disabled pickup truck on Interstate 55 in Edwardsville.Kruckeberg, 58, was outside of the vehicle at about 1:34 p.m. when a 2018 International truck tractor semi-trailer driven by 53-year-old Guy M. Lang, who also sideswiped the victim’s vehicle, which was pulling a trailer. Kruckerberg was airlifted to a local hospital for serious injuries.

ZEELAND, Mich. — Westbound I-196 was closed near the Zeeland exit after a semi truck and a box truck collided. The crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. A box truck driven by a 61 year-old Illinois man was stopped in the area between the westbound lanes and the exit for Zeeland. It was hit by a semi truck driven by a 66 year-old Byron Center man when the truck drifted over the line.

Whitten, 19, was a passenger in the SUV, which was eastbound on U.S. 30 in when it went off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.

A 32-year-old is facing murder charges in connection to an accident on Interstate 85 in April that killed a father and his daughter. The Opelika Police Department worked a traffic crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 85, near the 63 mile-marker, on April 23. David Darnell, 49, and Abigail Darnell, 16, were killed in the crash. The 1997 Ford Mustang they were occupying was stopped on the emergency shoulder of the road where the pair was checking on Abigail’s broken-down vehicle.

A Mercer County man was killed Friday night when a box truck slammed into his car that was stalled on the side of the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. Garret Christino, 22, of Hightstown, was killed in the crash in Carneys Point Township after a box truck hit his Nissan Altima, said New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez. The driver of the truck and a passenger in the truck both sustained minor injuries, said Goez.

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police have released more information on a crash in James City County killed a 63-year-old man Thursday night. State troopers were called to a two-vehicle crash scene at 8:56 p.m. on I-64 westbound. The crash happened near mile marker 255. Investigators learned a Dodge Ram 3500 was driving on the interstate and had to pull over after becoming disabled. The 63-year-old driver was outside of the truck when a Freightliner tractor trailer lost control, ran off the road and hit the Dodge Ram along with its driver.
