Motorcyclist dead after striking car that hit deer
A 23-year-old Santa Fe man died Thursday night after rear-ending a vehicle that had stopped after hitting a deer, according to police. Deputy Chief Paul Joye originally said the motorcyclist — Enrique Santiago Roybal — had struck the deer but later amended that to say Roybal struck the rear end of the 2004 Subaru Legacy driven by Susan Whittington, 62, of Española. Joye said Whittington had stopped after striking the deer, but he had no further details Friday.

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - Billy Ray Polk, 36, of Temple, was in the Bell County Jail Thursday facing an intoxication assault charge after a man and a woman who were changing a tire late Wednesday night on an Interstate 35 exit ramp were struck by a vehicle whose driver did not stop. The victims, who were struck just before midnight Wednesday on the Exit 304 ramp on the northbound interstate in Temple, were both taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple where they were in stable condition Thursday.

A hit and run car incident in Rosedale early Thursday morning killed one teenager and injured another, police say. Maryland State Police are searching for the driver of a gray Infiniti that may have struck and killed 17-year-old Amira Geovoni Jennings on the inner loop of I-695 between I-95 and Philadelphia Road around 4:20 a.m. A second pedestrian, an unnamed 18-year-old, was transported by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) — A West Virginia man died after being hit while on the side of Interstate 695 near the interchange with Interstate 795 Thursday afternoon, state police said. The crash happened shortly before 4 p.m. Police said 39-year-old Ronae Lavida Anderson of Baltimore was driving erratically in a 2016 Infiniti Q70 when she hit 49-year-old Rodney Shears of Jefferson County, West Virginia. Shears, who was standing on the shoulder behind his orange Chevrolet Cobalt, died at the scene.

One man has died after a crash involving multiple vehicles in Scott County Wednesday, according to police. Richard A. Bolin, a 53-year-old Georgetown resident, was the victim of a fatal crash on northbound Interstate 75, according to the Scott County sheriff’s office. The accident happened about 4 p.m. at the 125-mile marker, according to Georgetown police. Bolin was driving in a Jeep Grand Cherokee and rear-ended a Land Rover, which was sitting in the center lane broken down, said Lt.

ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia State Police say a woman was airlifted to a hospital after she was hit by a vehicle just outside Windsor Thursday afternoon. Police say the woman’s injuries are not considered life-threatening. State police said the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on Route 460, east of Stave Mill Road and west of Windsor. Initial investigation shows a Chevrolet truck pulling a trailer became disabled and blocked the right lane of traffic.

A four-vehicle crash early Saturday evening left four people injured and forced the closure of all lanes of northbound Interstate 35. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash occurred about 5:40 p.m. on northbound Interstate 35 under Interstate 435 in Lenexa.Troopers say a 2017 Kia Sportage was stopped in a northbound lane with a flat tire when a 2012 Chevrolet Impala rear-ended it. The Impala was hit by a 2008 Ford Focus, and a 2011 Mini Cooper then ran over the bumper of the Focus.
