Multi-car accident forces temporary closures in I-94 express lanes, no injuries reported, ISP says
CHICAGO (WLS) – Illinois State Police District Chicago Troopers responded to a crash involving four cars on I-94 Sunday. The crash took place on southbound express lanes at 47th Street, according to ISP.The driver of one car lost control and came to final rest in the left lane and partially on the left shoulder, ISP said. Another driver attempted to stop in order to avoid the first car but hit the first car.

SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A Tyler man was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler as he was pouring gas into his disabled vehicle on State Highway 31 in Smith County late Friday night. According to a press release, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on SH 31 about 3.5 miles east of Tyler at about 11:50 p.m. on Friday. The preliminary crash report shows that James Lewis Gaylord, 31, broke down when he was driving his 2009 Ford Mustang on the westbound side of SH 31.

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Good Samaritan who was helping a stranded motorist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver near Kennedy International Airport in Queens on Friday night, police said. The 51-year-old man was standing near his black Audi sedan on the eastbound side of the Nassau Expressway, near North Hanger Road in Springfield Gardens, at the time he was struck, according to police. A 9-year-old child died Thursday from injuries suffered in a crash Tuesday on I-88 near Lisle, according to the Illinois State Police. The child, whose name wasn’t disclosed, died at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.The child was a passenger in a 2009 Honda Accord driven by Ashley Skrobot, 30, of Lombard. The crash occurred about 11 a.m. Tuesday. Skrobot lost control of the car, which hit the concrete median, veered back into traffic and then was struck by a semitrailer truck near the Route 53 exit.

HUNTSVILLE — A McCreary County woman who was attempting to render aid at the scene of a multi-vehicle accident at the S.R. 63-S.R. 456 intersection on Tuesday, Jan. 26, was struck by another vehicle and seriously injured. Wendy Taylor, 43, of Pine Knot, was airlifted from Huntsville to a Knoxville hospital after being struck in the 9 p.m. accident. According to a preliminary report filed by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, three vehicles were initially involved in the accident, while a fourth vehicle was involved moments later.

COLCHESTER, Vt. (WCAX) - Police say multiple cars were involved in a fiery crash on I-89 in Colchester during Wednesday morning’s commute. Authorities say one car reportedly changed lanes and hit another. Then another car was hit after it stopped in the road to avoid the first crash. A fifth car hit both of those cars and caught fire. One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The road opened back up shortly after.

A Michigan family missing for nearly two weeks has been found dead, according to authorities. In a statement to PEOPLE, the Ogemaw County Sheriff’s Office confirms that the bodies of Michael Dougherty, 35, Amanda Pomeroy, 32, and their 8-month-old son Jacob Dougherty were found by officials on Saturday. Their discovery came three days after the Michigan State Police issued an endangered missing advisory, according to ABC affiliate WJRT. The Bay City family was last seen on Jan.

At 2:15 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters and AMR ground ambulance responded to the southbound lanes, south of Arroyo Quemada Lane. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports a 36-year-old woman from Woodland Hills, who has yet to be identified, was standing on the right shoulder next to a vehicle that was registered to her.

JESSUP, Md. — One person is dead and several others are injured following a pedestrian crash that shut down several lanes in the area of northbound Interstate 95 just before Maryland Route 32 in Jessup Tuesday morning, according to Maryland State Police. Troopers responded to the incident around 5:15 a.m. and learned that three cars were involved in a minor multi-vehicle crash and pulled off the road. Police said one of the drivers drove off after exchanging information with the other drivers.

A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 in Hart County left one person dead. Kentucky State Police said the crash occurred about 8:30 p.m. Monday near the 67-mile marker. A 2014 Dodge Avenger driven by Naomi Sparrow, 47, of Louisville, struck a guard rail on the right shoulder, causing her vehicle to stall in the right lane. Sparrow’s car was struck by a 2020 Kenworth driven by Nettie Reeves, 48, of Palmersville, Tenn.
