Coconut Creek man killed in chain reaction crash in Deerfield Beach, authorities say

DEERFIELD BEACH — A Coconut Creek man died this week in a “chain reaction crash” in Deerfield Beach, authorities said. Joe Robertson, 71, rear-ended another driver in a 2018 Toyota who had stopped at a red light at the intersection of Northwest 45th Avenue and West Hillsboro Boulevard about 9:40 a.m. Tuesday.Roberston parked his Lexus behind the car in the center lane of West Hillsboro Bouelvard, but didn’t turn on his hazard lights, according to a Broward Sheriff’s Office news release.

Woman killed while crossing street to check on other driver involved in fender bender

A 54-year-old woman killed Tuesday in a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Pawnee near Hillside had gotten out of her car after she was involved in a minor accident to check on the other driver, Wichita police say. Department spokesman Officer Trevor Macy said the woman, Michelle Truong, was fatally injured shortly after 9 p.m. “Through their investigation, officers learned that Truong was involved in a minor accident just east of the intersection,” Macy said.

Woman killed while pushing her husband out of path of oncoming truck in Elgin, Kane County coroner says

An Elburn woman who shoved her husband out of the way of an oncoming truck while they were helping a motorist on Route 20 in Elgin Monday died of her injuries a few hours later, Kane County Coroner Rob Russell said. The couple had stopped to check on a juvenile girl who lost control of her vehicle and struck a guardrail about 8:30 p.m. on westbound Route 20 near McLean Road, an Elgin Police Department Facebook post said.

(KMOV.com) – Two men died after being hit by an SUV while standing on the side of Interstate 270 next to their broken-down semi-truck Tuesday night.The accident happened around 8 p.m. between the St. Charles Rock Road and Highway 370 exits. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two men were standing next to a disabled semi-truck that was partially blocking the right lane when an SUV crashed into the semi and then hit the men.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) – A chain reaction of car crashes happened on I-25 in Colorado Springs Monday night, after a car hit a patch of ice and lost control. CSPD said they responded to a crash Monday night around 11:00pm, on southbound I-25 near Exit 148, just north of Garden of the Gods Rd. According to police, a Hyundai sedan hit a patch of ice, lost control, and crashed into a guardrail.

Mosinee man gets 1-year jail, probation in death of Good Samaratian

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) -The 55-year-old Mosinee man convicted of hitting and killing a semi driver that stopped to help a stranded motorist will spend 1 year in jail and 5 years on probation. Scott Searing was sentenced Tuesday in Marathon County Circuit Court. In November, he pleaded no contest to homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. Court documents state on Sept. 4, 2018 a man pulling a camper stopped on the shoulder to change a tire on his camper on I-39 near Rothschild.

Two injured in Bismarck Expressway Bridge collision Sunday night

An Arizona couple was injured in a two-car collision on Bismarck Expressway Bridge Sunday night. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Anderson and Grace Begay of Ganado, Arizona, were traveling west over the bridge around 9:42 p.m., when their vehicle broke down, stopping them on the bridge deck. Moments later, a vehicle driven by Alexis Albers, 22, Mandan, rear-ended the stalled vehicle, leaving both vehicles blocking traffic and forcing the westbound lanes of the Expressway Bridge to be shut down for about an hour.

UPDATED: Interstate reopens after fatal crash

VENICE — A 46-year-old Port Charlotte man was killed and two other people were seriously injured in a Monday morning crash involving six vehicles on southbound Interstate 75 near Laurel Road exit in Venice. The Port Charlotte man was not identified. He was the driver of a tractor-trailer carrying concrete, according to a news release from Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. when traffic had been backed up due to a crash on the interstate at Jacaranda Boulevard, the FHP stated.

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Four people are dead after separate crashes that occurred on I-95 South in Port St. Lucie early Sunday morning, causing the southbound lanes to be shut down for several hours. The crashes happened around 4:30 a.m. just south of Gatlin Boulevard.According to Florida Highway Patrol, for unknown reasons, a van with three people inside was stopped in between the right and middle southbound lanes of I-95 when a pickup trucked crashed into its right side.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – A Good Samaritan risked his life to save a stranger’s. RJ was critically injured in a crash when he stopped Tuesday to help two women on the side of Northwestern Highway. Doctors said he will have to learn how to walk again. “I saw him laying there, legs broken, a lot of pain,” said his fiancée, Tiara Kendrick. Kendrick had rushed from work and found RJ lying on the shoulder of Northwestern Highway.
